Re: $11: Call this early position push

[ QUOTE ]
This was a hand a saw while railtarding a friend. He pushed UTG+1 with A7 and I told his opponent after he called that it was a poor call but the whole table said that they call in that...

Re: $11: KK on the bubble

Definately should have pushed pre-flop but not pushing isn't the worst thing in the world although if you aren't going to push then a call would be better than a small re-raise.

A call...

Re: $22: Push or wait with an uber short stack

[ QUOTE ]
There is little utility in going from 100 to 150 chips when the BB is 100. You will not be able to get anyone to fold. Getting up to ~400 chips at least makes it a decision.

Re: $22: Push or wait with an uber short stack

[ QUOTE ]
Wow, I had an almost identical situation occur last night in $11, except I was in small blind and had J9o, just a little over 300 chips. I called for 150, he then raised for my remainder....

Re: Theory: Approach to Very Short Stack Play

The push was good IMO in a $55+ - lower buyins it might not be since you will often get multiple callers.

Button and SB will generally play this tightly because of the risk of someone coming...

Re: Curtains: flop decision

[ QUOTE ]
I figure if we push, we win 600 about 85% of the time.

[/ QUOTE ]

For what it's worth, I think we have a much greater than 15% chance to be called here. I'd say there is at least a...

Re: Curtains: flop decision

Good hand - looking forward to this discussion. What are your reads on the BB? I think this makes a big difference here.

Given his call (and especially given his stack size) I'd probably check...

Re: Odds of a major downswing?

The chances of having a 10 buyin drop over 300 is pretty close to 100%, if not 100%.

It depends on which question you are asking - having a 10 buyin drop during the...

Re: Leak #1 Overcards.

Great thread - I'm very guilty of this exact thing myself... Bet the flop with overs (which I think is reasonable as it will likely buy you a free card) then I bet the turn (which is bad) because I...
