Re: I hit my flush and I\'m skeered

I don't think the people advocating folding the turn are playing in the same PP 2/4 games that I am. You only need roughly 15% equity to call one more bet on the turn and the river (if you improve)....

Re: Poll: when do you post up vs. wait for BB?

[ QUOTE ]
Villian I really dont understand the math. I am missing something maybe. In 10 hands I can pay one small forced bet (.50) or two small forced bets $(1.0) at .50-1.0 steaks. I end up...

Re: Poll: when do you post up vs. wait for BB?

Maybe this will help define position advantage for posting.

Give hero two random cards: J6o
Let's say there is no pFR and 5 see the flop in both scenarios (BB and late position post). Board comes...

Re: Poll: when do you post up vs. wait for BB?

If you got to choose when to post your BB, what position would you select?
I think you answered your question yourself when you mentioned you are not early twice, at the expense of not being the...

Re: Poll: when do you post up vs. wait for BB?

I see people sit at a full ring game and not post at the CO when given a chance and wait for the BB to come around. These people either have poor math skills or want to watch a rotation to get a fill...

Re: Pot Equity

Pot doesn't matter in your example of only looking at PE.

$10 pot, HU. You have 40% equity.

1) You are checked to and bet $5, oppenent calls: pot=$20. Your share = $8. Net = $8-$5=$3

2)...

Re: Need help with effective odds

My take:
If you are certain the opponent will check/fold when you catch, you can't call the flop bet. You are getting odds for two cards, but not the one turn card.

Re: Pot Equity

If the ONE thing you are considering is pot equity, never bet heads-up unless you have greater than 50%. Obviously in real life there are a number of other factors to consider.

Re: blind stealing - random hands

Thanks, I would have bet any card in that position and wanted to make sure it wasn't a case of my over-agression coming into play.
Without a K on the turn, do you check the river UI?

Re: blind stealing - random hands

Hands 3:
If the turn is Qc instead of the Kc, what is your play?
What about an ace instead, or a heart (though this one seems easy), or any other card you want to mention?

I am looking at...

Re: Interesting hand from someone else

Fold. Any PP takes this down. The call in front of hero probably means we are banking on no PP from P3 or P2 yet to act and hero's K outkicking P5. While not sound poker, the fact that someone...

Re: Overcard hands--how long do you play?

Blind leadin gthe blind here, but will take a shot at this.
I assume the "bets" by MP on the PF flop are calls that got converted wrong. If either of those is a raise, this hand hits the muck...

Re: shift of aggression

I think more aggression on the turn and river are in order here. This is a very uncordinated board. You are only behind a set. I think a lower two pair (A9, Q9) is much more likely from MP2 and CO...

Re: 99 - overpair and OESD on flop.

I call the flop 3-bet.
Looks good otherwise to me.

Re: Two QQ hands

My thinking at the time was (given the pot size) I didn't want to marry an A (e.g. AK) or a K (e.g. KQ) to the hand to make them calling me to the river accidently correct.

Re: Two QQ hands

When I picked up the strong flush draw is when I decided to try one more aggressive move. Currently my AF might be a little too high and this hand really shows that I think.
I called the river bet...

Re: Slowplaying

The closest I get to "slowplaying" this hand is calling a 3-bet on the flop instead of capping to increase the chances of him helping me cap the turn.

Re: TPNK from BB....how should I have played this?

I check the flop. If the bet comes on my left I call and check/fold the turn UI. If the bet comes from my right I raise to try and isolate a late position player that is trying for a free card and to...

Two QQ hands

Hand 1
After lurking for a while, I think I am good enough to post hands and get something out of the discussion.
My main question is on the flop. Protecting my hand by waiting for the turn in...

Re: TPSK + stop n go

SB closes the action on the flop (the stop) and leads out on the turn (the go).

Re: AA - 0.5/1.0 Party... protect or get out?

LA-P take the same line I would have taken with pocket 9s, Ts, or Js. With these three holdings I would check-raise you on the flop. In this case SB does the job for me. When you don't reraise the...

Re: Party Omaha-8 10/20

I am new to O8 and the boards, so my posting and thinking aloud is more for my benefit than yours. Comments are welcome.
Here would be my line:

Bet the flop then call a raise if it comes...
