Re: STT basic strategy checklist

[ QUOTE ]

I don't understand when 2+2 players are afraid to play hands like AJ in position because they don't want to get into trouble with it.

I think it is more that people...

Re: When to get involved

Agreed, hand 2 is auto fold for me.

Hand 1, if I have been watching and reckon I can see the flop for 50 then I might limp. Don't get attached to AJo, this is a tough hand to play from EP. Be...

Re: insights on this play??

I would say you made the right move here, merely by elimination:

T300 is too large a proportion of your stack

A limp will help him if he has overcards and doesn't really help you most of the...

Re: push on the turn?

I'd probably fold PF this early in a SnG, its not worth getting into trouble, but I expect that ATs is profitable here for some players.

What stakes are you playing? The rest assumes that you are...

Re: Looking for STT FAQ

I would speak to S+M before you put too much work into an FAQ for this site. If you become a published author (with someone other than 2+2) then they may not be willing to host an FAQ which has your...

Yes I wish I had more time to post /images/graemlins/frown.gif

Unfortunately the new job is pretty much all consuming. Still it pays rather better than 99.9% of days at the poker tables!

I will...

Re: Looking for STT FAQ

Unfortunately it disappearing has got nothing to do with me writing a new version! I guess the moderators decided that it didn't need to be sticky any more (or possibly it is because it has been...

Re: On the bubble, how do you play this hand?

I would certainly not push PF. KTo is far too weak for this - especially against a player who is willing to call down a lot.

Your flop bet is too small - it should be at least T600 and I would say...

Re: Favorite sng threads

Certainly if people PM me links to articles that they think should be added to the FAQ then I will add them (so long as it is not total BS /images/graemlins/tongue.gif).

Re: 1600x1200 LCD monitors (other than Dell and Samsung) and eye strain Qs

If you have the space then you can get a sharper image and better refresh from a CRT. Better for your eyes and better for games. It will also cost you about 60% of an LCD equiv.

Alternatively you...

Re: The little things. Abusing your stack.

I would also tend to avoid the PF push if I felt that I was better than the other players at the table. Although you would still have a perfectly healthy stack if you called and lost.

After that...

Re: $500 SNG on Stars HH

You know Ladbrokes offers $1000+50 SnGs? ($5000+100 as well, but only HU).

I don't think they fill up much though.

Re: I\'m not sure what this means

There are only two ways that I can think of to get at what ROI a tournament player might expect.

One way I can think to apporach it would be to find some top class 1-table, 2-table and 3-table...

does anyone have any...

No cigarette advertising any more. I expect booze adverts will go soon too. Which is a real shame because they are usaully much better than the shows.

Re: From \"chip and a chair\" to tourney winner - skill or luck?

You should always be trying to play skillfully. The thing is, as you get less and less chips there is less and less skill involved. i.e. more often the best and worst ways to play are more similar.

Re: Lies, damn lies, and statistics

I posted because the post I replied to suggested that a "bad run" could be fixed by adjusting ones game.
