Stars 10re/ Setting up a gamble, from UTG, against loose BB

BB will always steal on the flop regardless of previous action if he senses weakness, so I wanted to se a flop with him. I was certain he would call the raise with any ace, any broadway, and push...

Glad it worked out for you - there's nothing more satisfying than out-donking someone ;-) I know, I did that last night in a similar situation as yours when I pushed my TT into what I...

Re: Stars 10re/ Push to isolate button + dead money

[ QUOTE ]
I think the smooth call may actually make it more likely that he has a monster. If I had a hand that I didn't want to risk all his chips with (but didn't mind gambling for the...

Re: Stars 10re/ Push to isolate button + dead money

[ QUOTE ]
You're right, at this stage the "tournament life" plays a role - by that I assume you mean shallow stacks and a chance to make real money. That's exactly why you smooth call the big pair...

Re: Multi-table tournament tips

The most important thing is to adjust your play to the size of the inital pot (SB+BB+antes). You are in big trouble if you have 5X chips or less then whats in the pot and should push any hand if your...

Stars 10re/ Push to isolate button + dead money

The button is "TheBoss", and I figured he needed chips so I thought my A8s was good. I was fairly certain that the tight SB had me beat though, but since he didnt isolate I figured he would fold to a...

(blind)

hand 1: ugh, i'd fold. if he had more chips then i'd say push/fold/call would all be ok.

hand 2: i'd call. you have plenty of odds against a set, and even if someone has a...

Re: FT 5 to go. TT with action.

[ QUOTE ]
Maybe I'm alone on this, but I'm not entirely sure that this is such an easy call. I'm not so worried about the Villain as the shortstack. With what range of hands does a player raise 75%?...

Re: FT 5 to go. TT with action.

[ QUOTE ]
This sounds like an easy call but its a top 2 heavy payout so that kinda makes it less of an easy call sicne I have a nice stack compared to the rest. I'm second in chips. CL has around...

Re: Theories on Stars rebuy MTT\'s

I suggest that if I can just be near or slightly above the avg stack by the break then I'm fine. But that does require winning 1-2 all-ins too. I kinda look at it like if I can, I want to...
