Re: General stud theory question: Being raised in the first betting ro

[ QUOTE ]
Playing no middle pairs has got to be -EV, thats pretty tight I think.

And calling a half bet on 3rd street won't tie you on if you don't improve by 5th most of the time. If you don't...

Re: Stud vs Hold Em (low content)

[ QUOTE ]

It's tough to get a lot of action without being crushed in tight structured stud games. In holdem there is always some guy who will over defend his blind, call down with middle pair or...

Re: Stud vs Hold Em (low content)

I've been playing some hold 'em recently and doing quite well. I find these games to be easier. I think hand reading in hold 'em is much easier.

Re: General stud theory question: Being raised in the first betting ro

Since I don't play middle pairs, I can't answer your question from personal experience.

In general a raise on 3rd, means you should call on 3rd/4th/ and probably 5th/6th/7th as well. Why get...

Re: Stud/8 - flush on 5th

Raise on 5th,

Fold on 6th.

At least it's only $50/1. You could have been playing for real money.

Re: Going too far with Tens?

[ QUOTE ]

I think the alternative would be to give it up with a check-fold. The problem is that you still don’t know where you stand if you check and are bet into. Was the bet a result of your...

Re: How do you respond to villain\'s river bet?

Is this even a serious question? Calling is the most obvious and most logical play, and it's not even close.

Don't play guessing games on the river.

If you read down, you see that the OP of the RGP post claimed that he had never read TOP. I think he just wanted to feel like a big man and try to disporve something DS wrote.

Re: Private Draw Tournament

Make it a limit tournament. PL has too much luck to it, (it basicly boils down to who has the best hand preflop).

Personally I liked all of Tom McEvoy's books, and have learned...
