Re: kk gets put all-in on the river

I agree with jablue on this one, I have to feel someone is a major major donk or has a strong hand themselves before I 3 bet my pair there.

Re: kk gets put all-in on the river

[ QUOTE ]
I like the flop call and the turn bet. You should have pushed the river.

[/ QUOTE ]

Do u believe a player like this is calling a river push with a pair? Just wondering... I'm sure...

kk gets put all-in on the river

Villain is a lag/maniac/bad player who puts far too much in with pair type hands and draws. On the flop I was nearly certain I was ahead, figuring him for a pair, probably a 10. So I set about...

Re: KQs tp facing psb on turn against aggr player (6 max)

Re: bluff with 88 trying to represent an ace

So seems like nobody agrees with checking behind here in case bb or sb checked an ace, I wasn't sure of that reasoning either and I can definitely see its easier to represent an ace when I bet the...

KQs tp facing psb on turn against aggr player (6 max)

Villain is 55/18/3.5 after 108 hands, w@sd 50%, wtsd 20%, but I think at the time I didn't have quite that many hands on him. All I had to go on was that he was calling all my pfrs and was min...

bluff with 88 trying to represent an ace

I don't bluff much as I'm not very good at it, but I'm trying to add it into my game. What do you guys think of this bluff? My image should be pretty tight at this table, and the villains stats are...

Re: VPIP and strategy, how to adjust for higher limits

Hrm, well he either has a set or just a pair, and my read on the line he took was that he had me on a continuation bet and was trying to get me out on the turn, most likely. I don't think he called...

Re: VPIP and strategy, how to adjust for higher limits

Thats some great advice, and I like the mindset for trying the higher tables. Right now I have an 8k roll, so I'm thinking I'll set aside maybe 600$ per month trying to get into 1/2. If I lose the...

Re: VPIP and strategy, how to adjust for higher limits

I just tried one, it worked! Villain is a tight player (10/3 over 900 hands) and also knows I'm tight. I don't think he's seen me do the weak continuation bet before, I usually bet more. How did I...

Re: VPIP and strategy, how to adjust for higher limits

Well I think you should only be playing more hands against tighter players if you are going to bluff them. If you try to play for value you'll just get slaughtered (which is what I do). Vice versa if...

Re: VPIP and strategy, how to adjust for higher limits

7 tabling right now so I can't get too detailed, but you made some good points. The 107 example is a good example of a spot you could steal from a tight player. Never tried limit because I started...

VPIP and strategy, how to adjust for higher limits

[ QUOTE ]
When u say he needs to play more hands I think you should qualify this a little. I spent a long time trying to find out what hands it was I should be playing. It seemed that there were so...

Re: 200$ NL VPIP help

I don't have much to add, just want to say that I have very similar amount of hands and somewhat similar stats, and my experience at 1/2 has been about the same. 15k hands and I'm even. I'm tight...

Re: Am I playing K\'s like they are A\'s?

I fold kk often at full ring, if I have a good read and a tight player 3 bets me pre-flop hard its 90%+ AA and I can find better spots to get my money in. Or if they are just a super rock and only...

Re: why do i do this? How do I stop?

[ QUOTE ]

My thoughts are that it's the desperate to win a pot situation and an inability to play each hand as an individual situation. My previous hand/session is on my mind, I've just made a...

Re: (results)

[ QUOTE ]
Ugh, I play bad. It's enough to drive someone to limp reraising :P

Hand 1: I reraised to $250. He folded. I think call/leading is best?

Hand 2: I reraised to $250. He called. Turn...

Re: bottom boat facing huge overbet

Well... I really didn't know what to do, sometimes I call these overbets but I was already losing for the session and maybe that caused me to be a bit shy. I figured I only had 23$ in and I didn't...

Re: 55 bottom set gets put all-in, my action?

[ QUOTE ]
Its a limped pot; of the things you are beating, villain could easily have something like T9, 87, 86, 75, 65, or 2 overcard spades. If he flopped the straight, its only 2:1 against you...

AA facing overbet on turn

Villain is tight-passive/aggressive, 15/3.2/2.4, won at showdown 66% of the time and went to showdown 15% of the time over 93 hands. A friend of mine who plays the 10/20 game said this is a close...

Re: 55 bottom set gets put all-in, my action?

Can you help me out here? What clues did I miss which told me I should beat him into the pot? I know you are better than me so I was hoping you could go into details.

bottom boat facing huge overbet

Villain in this hand is a loose-passive/aggressive player, 60/4.88/4, went to showdown 25% of the time and won 38% of those. I only have 80 hands on him though. I hadn't really noticed much from him...

55 bottom set gets put all-in, my action?

Villain in this hand is a loose-aggressive/passive, 30.6/9.9/.9, and he wins about 62% of his showdowns. He has gone to showdown 37% though. I only have 100 hands on him. I believe I've seen him make...
