Re: Poker makes us smarter?

On the contrary I think my brain shuts down in several areas when playing. It becomes a robotic exercise.

What it hones is my ability to concentrate, not ability to think rationally IMHO.

Re: EP Raises scaring people off at 0.02/0.04 limits

I would say if you are playing 0.02/0.04 and most people usually fold to a raise, your best plan is to switch to another 0.02/0.04 table.

Re: Pokertracker users: Do you change your screen names periodically?

Yes I do

Re: Beginner question about using odds tables

In practice I round things to whole numbers.

8 outs, 5 to 1. (on Flop or on Turn)

Its not accurate but does it really need to be? You don't see that many borderline situations.

Re: What is Poker Tracker?

I have purchased PokerOffice and PokerTracker at different times. There is an overlap in what they provide.

Some key differences are:

PokerOffice monitors live play and gives you pot odds at...

Re: He just won\'t call

It sounds like maybe you are only betting when you actually have something in which case they are reading your play well

If you come in with a raise and 2 people call, the next bet should be...

Well MP2 did indeed have AQ.
SB (the calling station type) had AJ

And so I won, with 3 Kings

I felt BAD, only because I don't think I should have called the turn, I don't think I win often...

Cold Call PF - is it ever good?

When is it a good play to cold call a PF raise outside of the blind positions?

Lately I noticed I have been doing this 0% of the time, what could I be missing?

Re: This made me feel BAD. Would you have called the turn?

Note I meant that SB is the calling station, but its not that important. MP2 is the aggressor.

leader .... would you have planned to call a river bet with just KK, no matter what?

Pokertracker can automatically request them at 5 minute intervals (or any interval you specify)

If you mean , can I request my game histories from 6 months ago, no you can't.

Re: This made me feel BAD. Would you have called the turn?

Well it wasnt a scientific 75%. I was virtually certain at least one of these players had an Ace which meant I only had 2 outs.

This made me feel BAD. Would you have called the turn?

MP1 is a calling station and would go to the river with middle pair.

But no particular reads on MP2.

So on the turn, I feel 75% sure MP2 has AQ - yet I call anyway.... ??

Would you have...

Decent Limit Holdem players, I have seen it written often have a SD close to 19 BB/100 but is the converse true?

If players A, B, C have an SD of 14, 19 and 23 respectively over 100K hands, can...

Re: Limp-folding

I usually fold AJo UTG at a full table, am I playing too tightly?

Plus, I may even fold AQo UTG. But always raise when I decide to play either.

Will call 1 bet if raised tho'
