Re: Heckled after KTs hits hard

I count 14 outs, not just 12 -- eight clubs (since the 8 is in Villians hand), three Jacks (already counted the club), and three Kings (since Villian only had a pair of Qs). And what were you...

Re: 2+2 table on .5/1 Party

yeah, it was fun. Thanks for reminding me how bad I am when faced with aggression (I try to seek out passive tables, so don't come following me!)

Another .5/1 LO8 question (full house 6-way, force out low draws?)

So I'm anxious to work on my O/8 game, hence posting in HJ. Anyway, my question is on the turn, but comments up to there are also welcome:

River......hero.......raises.

You're last to act, MP3 has Q-10 and SB probably has the same. SB raises this with a full on the river, you're good here often enough to raise the river. ...

Re: How good is an underboat in this game?

Thanks for the replies everyone. I guess I was still stuck in a hold 'em mentality, where any pair is worth playing in hopes of flopping a set. Suppose I have a hand like this one, a pair and some...

How good is an underboat in this game?

A little disclaimer (in four parts):
(1) I'm very interested in learning to play O/8, but I'm extremely bad at this game
(2) I'm mostly concerned with my river play, but I doubt I played any of the...

Re: Am I Missing Something Here?

the pay out is 8 FOR 1, not 8 TO 1, so you are getting 7 TO 1 making it a bet that favors the house.

If you search for "Party Side Bet" or something, you should see a ton of threads about it.

I think the turn is closer (between call and fold) than people are making it out to be because you pick up the gut-shot as well. There are 9 cards that improve your hand (4 Ks, 3 Qs, 2 Js),...

I was playing around with a ROI simulator today, and I ran a simulation of 100000 sets of 5 games. It gave the chance for a +10% ROI player making a loss over these 5 games as 52%.

Re: Maximum outs on the turn

You have 23 outs in your situation: there are 9 hearts left, not 8. But here's a situation where you have 25 outs (I don't know if this is the most possible, but it's probably close!):
