Re: A A in Early Position ?

You should have bet the river. Other than that, it looks good.

Re: The 3rd Guy Appreciation Thread

I don't know if this hand strictly meets the criteria, but it sure was fun.

Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is Button with J/images/graemlins/heart.gif,...

Did I really call this river?

Villain in this hand was loose (VPIP > 70) and had raised from EP with A8o in a previous hand.

Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (8 handed)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with A/images/graemlins/club.gif,...

Re: pocket 7\'s on loose table

If you think there will be 5-6 people calling the raise, then the initial call is ok. After it's capped, you're getting over 8-1 even if MP3 and Button fold, so a call is fine.

Re: Decision with an overpair

Man, I don't know. I'm trying to think what hand SB would have to raise PF, bet out on that flop, and then call two bets back to him and lead out again on the turn. The only thing I can think of is...

Re: Set of 9\'s - Crazy Action - What To Do?

I would put UTG+1 on 2 pair or a flush or straight draw. A higher set is possible, but unlikely. What would worry me is the CO coming alive on the turn.

When it's 2 bets coming back to you on...

Re: What did Arieh say to Williams after Arieh busted out?

I think Williams was trying to say something about the hand and Arieh just said "Bust that mf" again.

Re: Kicking myself after this one

No, I thought the chance that I was behind to a better ace was small enough that I would make money by being aggressive. What I was mostly afraid of were the flush and straight draws. With that...

Kicking myself after this one

Can I bet this river for value? When the third diamond hit, I went into check and call mode.

The table here was pretty bad, even by Party standards. They had been calling all the way to the...

Re: VVPism

No, you heard correctly. It could have been worse though. He could have called Sentil the "Vijay Singh of Poker".

Did I have any business calling these down?

Both hands from a typical UB .5/1 table: semi-loose (35-40% see the flop) and semi-aggressive.

Hand 1:
I post in the cutoff and get J /images/graemlins/heart.gif T /images/graemlins/heart.gif....

Re: Identifying Leaks in My Game

I'm not a shorthanded player, but I'll offer you my free observations (worth every penny).

It seems to me that you're playing way too tight for 6 handed. A VPIP of 16.7% and a PFR of 7.2% is...

Re: KQo river decision

In addition to the hands you listed, I was also afraid he had K7, K6, or K4 for the boat. Since there was no raise preflop, I think these holdings are a possibility. Like you said, I thought that...

KQo river decision

I'm doing some experimenting with NL, playing the micro buy-in games at UB. I'm still trying to figure out what's going on, so forgive me if I ask some simple questions. This was a hand from a $2...

On hand 2, I was concerned about him betting into me after I capped. I see now that was too weak. I guess I'm just too attuned to the passive play at these limits and put too much faith in...

I found myself at a aggressive table at Party .5/1 the other night. I decided to keep playing there just to see how I handled the aggression. It was driven by two players: one solid, tight...

Re: Home Torney Quandry

Weak tight AJs

I'm feeling pretty confident in loose passive games (thanks largely to the advice on this forum), but I'm not as comfortable when the aggression starts up. An example was this .25/.50 game I was in...
