Re: Winners/Losers PLO8

I have about 600K hands in my database. Almost all PLO8 $100. My database shows 62% losers and 38% winners.

I would be surprised if there were many databases out there that had splits that were...

Re: taking someones SATs for them, for a fee

I think that taking someone else's SATs is wrong, but am not posting to change the OPs mind.

As to the point about not being able to make it in college, I agree with OP that that is just false. If...

Are there any major live PLO8 tourneys?

I have looked at a lot of the major WPT/WSOP tourney stops and see that sometimes there is Omaha8 and usually PL Omaha, but never PLO8 tourneys.

Does anyone know of any PLO8 tourneys with buy-ins...

Re: Your first concert.

I saw Yes and Deep Purple a couple months apart at the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh in 1984 when I was about 14. There was more than smoke on the water (sorry couldnt resist)

Re: Key PT stats for Omaha/8

I only play PLO8 $100. I look at VPIP, net win/loss and postflop agg factor in determining how I am going to play a hand.

I know that the range of VPIP for PLO8 is wider than for limit as...

Re: Party stock almost half off hi --- when to buy??

I looked at my records. it was $14.95 at Fidelity.

Not sure if the Canadian bank you are referring to is TD Waterhouse, but my experience with them is that you can call 5 times and ask the same...

Re: Party stock almost half off hi --- when to buy??

I bought some Sportingbet (also traded in London) right after they acquired Paradise Poker about 9 months ago. Fidelity charged me their standard commission ($14.95 or so). Its had a nice run since...

Re: PLO8 -- who plays bad?

So Greg, I am curious as to the results (as I am sure are many others).

Re: PLO8, facing a big raise from LAG

I agree with the other posters. Maybe he has AA, but I suspect with the kind of stats you describe he puts you on A2xx and he figures to pot the flop unless two or more low cards come. I would call.

Re: A2 vs AA

Thanks Doug.

You are right I should have mentioned stack size. In my head I was assuming that both myself and the reraiser had roughly the same stacks (in the neighborhood of $100 each the last...

A2 vs AA

This situation comes up fairly regularly and so I wanted to get people's thoughts on how they play it:

You are dealt something like:

3/images/graemlins/heart.gif, A/images/graemlins/spade.gif,...

Re: 2 days in the life

FWIW my win rate is 18BB/100 and SD is 56BB/100 over 10K hands at PLO8 ($100).

Re: What hands are you making the most playing?

Well after much wrestling with the computer and a lot of help from Gooper here are my PLO8 ($100) stats:

Re: WCOOP

Ribbo,
I emailed them about a month ago about PLO8 at the WCOOP. Their answer was an uncharacteristically terse "we are not planning on it". I then got tied up moving into a new house so I let it...

Re: PL 5K Hand checkin

Hi Gooper,
A few thoughts:

Seems like you could see a few more flops and then fold more often. That is, it seems like you are sticking to premium starting hands (holding down your VPIP), but then...

Re: how about YOU berate ME so THIS never happens again

For someone who knows so much about PLO8 it appears that that knowledge is not transferable to NLHE (particularly after being distilled.)

Re: $200 PLO8: Do you have quads?

I agree with other posters. In particular, a lot of people like to play A3xx, so a 3 is very likely. At these kind of limits I have rarely if ever seen a pot size reraise with KK333 or worse. Smells...
