Re: 3bet fold to a cap?

Hmm... usually 2p2ers are more aggressive with flush draws and overcards, right? This definitely looks like KQ or AQ from villain - which will call, but not cap. I can't say I've ever tried this...

Re: thin calldown

If you think villain is severely tilting, check behind on the flop and call the inevitable flop and river bets. This looks a bit over-aggressive to me. (But I play 1/2, so I could be completely...

Re: The Six Max Ladder

I only did a few hands at 0.5/1 before jumping up to 1/2 on Absolute. I've played Party, Absolute, and Stars 1/2, and they're all fairly soft. You have to pay attention to the table texture, but...

Re: Man my starting hands have been all over the place

I should reiterate that none of this is definite. It's fine to fold AJ and KQ vs a raise from a 20/5 player. I wouldn't play JTs UTG unless you have a fairly passive table. You can end up isolated...

Re: Man my starting hands have been all over the place

Here are my general plans:

Axs UTG - raise A8s+, fold A7s-
JTS UTG - raise
KJS OTB vs raise - usually 3-bet
KQo OTB vs raise - usually 3-bet
AJo facing a raise - 3-bet
Ax in CO - raise A7+,...

Re: Turn decision or no decision

Definitely call down. I think we'd have heard from AQ preflop. Without a read, this could be a worse Q pretty often.

Re: session review - pairings

I PM'd our illustrious moderators to ask. We already have 2 stickies, and I think it'd get a bit cluttered, but it doesn't hurt to ask. If not, we can keep bumping for a couple days.

Re: Blind stealing / Valuing cards from Button

This is hugely opponent dependent. Only do these kinds of plays (calling a 3-bet) versus a thinking and/or tricky player. I think you lose way too much value against a typical player by not capping...

Re: Pay off?

I don't know dude. Is this Ax (x<8) without hearts often enough? That's a fairly scary board for villain to bluff at - even this nut. A flop c/r is different than a donkbet, IMO. I think we can...

Re: Blind steal, turn decision

I try not to fold to the flop checkraise if I can help it. If my hand has a chance I'll usually call. That's for metagame reason.

Re: 4 hands from tonights 348 +.24BB/100 session

Hand 1: Preflop is fine. I just call the flop. You're rarely getting a free card, and you don't have the best hand often enough.

Hand 2: I just call preflop, though you probably have enough...

Peel hoping for what? You're drawing thin to dead here most of the time.

Re: New to 6-max. What are these donks 3 betting preflop w/?

Yeah... too vague.

It could be AA and KK for a tight player. For a 20/5 player maybe AA-QQ and AK. For a TAG, assuming he has position on you, AA-88, AKo-ATo, AKs-A8s, KQ, KQs-KJs. And then...

Re: Learning Short Handed-Overcall on river?

Bet the flop because of your pot equity. You only need two callers to make it profitable. I might even cap after the 3-bet, just because it's fun. /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

As far as the river...
