I think it was some Java extension.

It's not there. I installed it once, it finished, but then it didn't work. Ii went to install it again and apparently it didn't work the first time. Didn't work the second time either. I can't see...

And tried to listen to the "Editor's Picks". I downloaded an extension (for Java, I think) and it didn't work, i.e. all play buttons showed...
