Re: Trip Ks on the Flop

The real reason why you shouldn't consider folding is exactly what adios is saying. There is only one more king in the deck! That means that for every round of bets going in, two players are donating...

Re: Results

Nice read on the sb. I expected a reraise from you with the big hands. I see now that I was very incorrect in thinking so.

Re: Noob post; How do you play a missed re-raised pf AK on the flop?

Yep, that's a continuation bet (cb). Just make it the same size as when you bet a hand that has hit the flop.

Whether you should make continuation bets or not depends mostly on your opponent....

Re: Results

Yes, I'd be glad to answer the question about my range. I think it can help myself some as well.

First off, like you said, this was more like a steal/resteal situation than anything else, and the...

Re: Results

I'd probably push. That said, I'm not certain that's the best play. I'd put you on a range like 99-qq (maybe too wide?) and ak with perhaps some odd hands thrown in. On top of that, with a ten high...

Re: Results

[ QUOTE ]
For exact numbers, here's the scenario. Shorty had $93.34, I only had $200 and you had me covered (my mistake in the OP). There are zero hands that should call $93.34 (I had put in $30...

Re: Results

Yep I'm definately calling a push from OP.

As already stated, OP didn't play like a donkey, and I knew he was a 2+2er.

Re: Results

well you've got your numbers wrong, no? It's more like closing the action for ~60 into a ~200 pot.

JJ flops an overpair or a set like 55-60% of the time to take the specific example.

I can...

Re: Results

How is that? I mean, this isn't very high level is it? I'm coming from a sng/mtt background, and my impression is that this is a rather basic level. High level against a high level opponent would be...

Re: Results

I'm the villain in this hand - bb.

I didn't give you credit for as much as jj - as you said I thought you had a decently wide range. Since I figured the sb was pretty tilted, I figured my aqs was...

Re: FT bubble, Battle of the Blinds

What's wrong with calling? If I can see this river for less than all of my chips I'd be delighted. I think I'd only push this flop if I felt there was a big risk that villain would overbet the turn. ...

Re: ATo - When do I get away from this?

So if you just bet your draw and then call a minimum raise, then all you gotta do is min bet the turn or river to get the pot even when the draw misses you? Incredible.

After you put in the raise...

Re: Chance to grab a stack or just poor play?

It is also nice to start building a pot, so that if you hit your hand you can stack someone.

Re: KJ on the bb, top pair against big field

I'd really appreciate some advice here. What kind of line would you take? I don't know if I mentioned it above btw, but this is a 20+2 pl holdem mtt on stars with just over 200 entrants.

Bump...

KJ on the bb, top pair against big field

I don't have a read on villain, hasn't drawn my attention is all I can say. I like my flop play, even though my friend would like me to bet out. The turn and river I am somewhat lost on what to do....

Indeed, he owned the final table. Bonus points for saying no to the deal because he was more skilled and then taking it all down.

Re: Seriously

I don't know about that? If he think it's like 55/45 that he's beat it gotta be better to just call, eh? It's not like emilie would fold AT to another 200-300k.

Re: Rebuy Hand; Is this play correct in a freezeout?

Yes, definately. Against the made straight and a set you're still 31% here to take it down. They'll have much much less here.

Re: Full house, raised on the river.

It's not like he will call you only when your beat here, far from it. And unlike a previous reply, I'd say a push is the best sized bet, most likely per chip to get a call from an inferior hand, no?

Re: Tough situation pf with qq - itm stars 20+2 800 entrants

Is there a hand converter for stars tournys? I checked it out and thought it said only ring games for stars.

What kind of ranges do you put them on?
