Re: Can learning PLO help your NLHE game?
I think the two replies you've had so far help to indicate that the answer is 'very little'.
I think No Limit Hold 'Em is about reads and nerve, and its harder to put a decent player on a hand....

Re: Bet a wheel wrap on the turn? (PLO8)
I think the problem with your final commment here is that your chances of stealing on the river are greatly reduced if you check the turn. If you bet the turn, your river bluff will be far more...

Thanks Jorge, you saved me writing the same thing. Perhaps I didn't express myself well enough for all readers though.

Re: PLO8 $400 Easy push?
I think you are giving up an awful lot of profitable situations if this one isn't good enough to get your money in. Sure, sometimes you will be up against it, but plenty times in this spot you will...

Re: I have to call, right?
That's flat-out wrong, the flush does not have better odds than this straight draw, even if you remove the straight outs that are spades.
Although it *is* true that of course the problem with the...

Re: omaha or hold \'um
No, no. Assuming that by 'suckout' you mean a hand bucking the odds to win - not just a draw hitting - then Omaha has far fewer suckouts than Hold 'Em.
It is a lot easier to get into situations...

Re: PLO High only hand - opinions needed
You are taking way too much abuse for the way you played this hand barbos. Yes pre-flop you have made a pretty big mistake by ending up with an eighth of your small stack in the middle.
But after...

I think Noam Chomsky is a genius, and I hate limit poker.
Where do I fit into your worldview?

Re: That post about Lorinda, and 2+2 solidarity
Whew, ten hours, pretty conclusive!
I have no personal experience, but did read a post at gutshot.co.uk from a good online player which mentioned Lorinda abusing his play from the rail.
Its not a...

That post about Lorinda, and 2+2 solidarity
The responses to 'Honestkindaguy''s post about Lorinda have surprised me. Two Plus Two mob leap to Lorinda's defence, with no apparent concern as to whether there is any truth in what the guy wrote....

Re: PLHE - how to get better?
I don't know if its worth much, but I'd simply go along with the other responses. Its a sad and annoying fact, but if you like to play 'big bet' poker then the vast majority of poker books are...
