Re: Can learning PLO help your NLHE game?

I think the two replies you've had so far help to indicate that the answer is 'very little'.

I think No Limit Hold 'Em is about reads and nerve, and its harder to put a decent player on a hand....

Re: write Party Poker and tell them to get shorthanded $100 PLO

Bad players may have less shot in a full ring game.. but the trouble is, there are more players able to take their money from them. I'd rather be one of four players up against one or two bad...

Re: Bet a wheel wrap on the turn? (PLO8)

I think the problem with your final commment here is that your chances of stealing on the river are greatly reduced if you check the turn. If you bet the turn, your river bluff will be far more...

Re: PLO8 $400 Easy push?

Thanks Jorge, you saved me writing the same thing. Perhaps I didn't express myself well enough for all readers though.

Re: PLO8 $400 Easy push?

I think you are giving up an awful lot of profitable situations if this one isn't good enough to get your money in. Sure, sometimes you will be up against it, but plenty times in this spot you will...

Re: I have to call, right?

That's flat-out wrong, the flush does not have better odds than this straight draw, even if you remove the straight outs that are spades.

Although it *is* true that of course the problem with the...

Re: omaha or hold \'um

No, no. Assuming that by 'suckout' you mean a hand bucking the odds to win - not just a draw hitting - then Omaha has far fewer suckouts than Hold 'Em.

It is a lot easier to get into situations...

Re: PLO High only hand - opinions needed

You are taking way too much abuse for the way you played this hand barbos. Yes pre-flop you have made a pretty big mistake by ending up with an eighth of your small stack in the middle.

But after...

tiresome pigeonholes

I think Noam Chomsky is a genius, and I hate limit poker.

Where do I fit into your worldview?

Re: That post about Lorinda, and 2+2 solidarity

Whew, ten hours, pretty conclusive!
I have no personal experience, but did read a post at gutshot.co.uk from a good online player which mentioned Lorinda abusing his play from the rail.
Its not a...

That post about Lorinda, and 2+2 solidarity

The responses to 'Honestkindaguy''s post about Lorinda have surprised me. Two Plus Two mob leap to Lorinda's defence, with no apparent concern as to whether there is any truth in what the guy wrote....

Re: PLHE - how to get better?

I don't know if its worth much, but I'd simply go along with the other responses. Its a sad and annoying fact, but if you like to play 'big bet' poker then the vast majority of poker books are...

Re: Online 2-4 PLO hand, Shockingly AA loses again. . .

I don't see any suggestion in the post that this was Omaha 8. I think it was straight high.

Re: americans do rule the online poker scene

1. Please provide evidence for your essentially meaningless 'fact' that Americans 'win more online'. More in total? More per head? What? And when did the World Internet Poker Monitoring Association...

Re: WillHill, Ladbrokes the softest games online by a mile

The games at Ladbrokes (I can't speak for Hills, never tried it) are soft. That's not because there are no Americans, but because the brand name, customer base and sheer size of Ladbrokes ensures...

Re: Grow a brain, if Americans are so easy to beat why do you

Oh good grief. Read my message - where did I say, or even suggest, that Americans are easy to beat or 'easy pickings'?? I would welcome American players because it would increase the traffic at the...

Re: 24 H tyvm, Mike get a clue before shooting off your mouth

Grow a brain and think about the difference between sports betting and a poker site. You seem to be suggesting that UK poker sites wouldn't want US players in case they were too good, but of course...

Bear with me, I am crap at pot limit omaha.

Question.. do you actually want to flop a set?
There aren't many boards that don't offer some sort of draw against you, and you end up simply praying...

Inside Poker Mind - another perspective

Fascinating reading the threads about John Feeney's book. I've got to say, I thought Rob's initial review seemed like a genuine opinion piece - and I can't help thinking that John F invites people to...

Re: How to Play 2 Tables Online?

Haven't you ever had the table switch JUST as you clicked.. and either folded a monster or called a raise with nothing?
Pretty upsetting in a pot-limit game!

Myself, I feel I lose too much focus...

Re: One thing that would improve online poker

You know, it actually annoys me MORE when people constantly type 'zzzzzzz' and so on into the chat box, when someone is slow. I don't know what the rush has to be all the time. I am quite happy to...
