Re: Poll, should I continue taking this shot?

[ QUOTE ]
I don't understand, if you have 550BB for 10/20, that's not taking a shot anymore. You're bankrolled for it. If you slip down towards 300BB, then move down to 5/10 again.

Re: why not limp all pairs utg?

[ QUOTE ]
It's often advised to only play like 88+ utg, or something like that. Why not play all pairs in these games? I love it when someone raises behind, I call a little raise and flop my set. ...

Re: 99 on the Button

Raise PF instead of limping.

Once you limp and are raised by the SB, I actually favor folding (am I too weak?). 99 will be tough to play, you are either way behind a bigger PP or slightly ahead...

Re: Profit or Fun?

Nothing wrong with playing poker as a fun hobby that shows some profit, as opposed to playing poker as a stressful second job (I'm assuming that poker is not your primary source of income).

Re: What\'s a good deal?

The most straightforward way to handle this it to have him pay for the seat. The fair amount would be (Total Prize Pool) / (Number of Players). If you do this, I don't see any justification for...

Re: Old Party Bonus not cleared. What will happen if I deposit?

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
I have an old, uncleared bonus sitting in my bonus acct. It's $15.00 for 150 hands that they gave me for no apparent reason. If I deposit for the 15for75more bonus will I have...

Re: Do u win moore with AKs than AKo?

[ QUOTE ]
They are basically the same hand. You aren't getting paid off with your flush because you need Qxs to call your pre-flop bet and hit the flush. How often is that going to happen?

Re: Strategic Question, what to do with A-K facing a reraise???

Couple points:

When posting a hand, stop the action at the key decision point (here facing an all-in push to your reraise). Do not post what your opponent ended up holding - you did not have that...

Re: Explain this about the random number generators

[ QUOTE ]
I would argue against this. Although it doesn't make a difference in what you should do because a random card is a random card, I'd rather play at a site that doesn't know what the turn...

Re: Is Tight Aggressive really the best?

[ QUOTE ]
Obviously if someone has hit a good run of cards they will appear to be looser and will have a higher winrate as well.

I think this is the key factor. Even with your...

Re: Taxes in California for Pro Gambler

This is my first year as a pro gambler and I was told that I was going to have to owe 44%, 9% state tax, 35% income tax.
I will have deductions but this will not account for much and if...

Re: At least one black.

P(drawing 3 reds) = 26/52 * 25/51 * 24/50 = .118

P(drawing at least 1 black) = 1 - P(drawing 3 reds) = .882

I would add what I was asking about here (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=4187479&an=0&page=4#Post4187479) ... How to play an overpair vs a PF raiser.

Re: Caught bluffing

Fold to his raise PF. You're not deep stacked enough to play small PP against someone raising big from the BB.

Fold flop. There are 2 high cards out there and a flush draw, making it much more...

Re: hit my set on the turn...help?

Easy call on the turn, you're getting great odds to hit your full house. You will have to call a moderate size bet if you miss, but this is counteracted by being able to use your position to collect...

Jennifer Harmon discusses this play in her Limit Hold'em section of Super System II. The idea here is that your raise on the turn might also have some fold equity, which can increase your EV over...

Re: Why is only Hold Em NL?

Drawing hands play a much bigger roll in Omaha then they do in Texas Hold'em. With a NL structure, Omaha often devolves into the player with the made nuts automatically pushing to keep all of the...
