Hmm... I dunno, before this I was running over the bubble, stealing blinds left and right. I got called by AJ when i had A8 once, but other than that everything was going fine.

Re: Bizarre and really tough AK hand

If he has the flush, why is he trying to bet you out of the pot? Have you played in such a way to make him think you might call? It didn't sound like it.

Tough spot! And a great hand to post!...

Who would possibly dedicate so much time to poker as to play 3000 22 sngs at the same level without ever moving up?

Re: Challenging the basics behind ICM

[ QUOTE ]
The most important skill in poker (including SNGs) is to understand your opponents and how they probably view you. The examples supporting ICM make that point. You must estimate the...

Re: I think i might suck

I think that you are experiencing normal variance. Awhile back someone posted a simulator where you could put in various winrates and then run samples of 2000 games. It was pretty amazing what...

Re: Party\'s Good players screenames

[ QUOTE ]
I don't buy it. Why would someone who thinks they can beat the $22s choose not to?
If you can pull a 20% ROI at the $11s you'd be rolled for the $22s in a couple of months even if time...

I ran this one through the Cambridge Poker Analyzer, and it gives the AA ~39.5%. This is why I don't play on PartyPoker, incidentally -- everyone is way too loose.

Re: Party\'s Good players screenames

I've played over 3000 $10's. Worrying about avoiding the tough players is futile.

1) You rarely come across the same people. If you do, it likely won't be enough times to make a difference. In...

I typed 'chink in the armor' and it was x'ed out. I then tried most of the asian slang names and most of them are censored.

Re: MATH: 45 extra chips to start 800-chip tourney adds >5% to ROI

Without understanding the effect why do you assume the 45 chips would be diminished like friction? Why wouldn't it snowball? I would start with it doing neither.

When you say it...

Re: MATH: 45 extra chips to start 800-chip tourney adds >5% to ROI

Sorry for using an analogy... but it's the best I could do.

I guess the point was that, as a model, the ICM simplifies an SNG so that we can do some analysis. That simplification can lead to...

Re: MATH: 45 extra chips to start 800-chip tourney adds >5% to ROI

It cannot be proven mathematically, but doesn't everyone's intuition just scream that ICM is plain wrong in this case (mathematical intuition as well as from experience)?

Re: Analysis Project

I think the question is a deeper one for those of us who play at low levels. That is, "How can I best analyze my play?"

Proper self-analysis is critical for any serious game. It's the key to...

Re: Results - 200 Party 10+1 SNGs

[ QUOTE ]
I don't see how you could have a negative ROI for 250 games if you are "crushing" the $10+ 1's. Maybe you weren't crushing them then?

Re: Results - 200 Party 10+1 SNGs

I'm crushing 10+1 and I had -ROI for 250 SNGs (with 35% ITM). I don't see how you can evaluate someones game after only 200.

Re: are the 10+1 STTs lasting longer?

So far, looks to be about a 7 minute avg. increase in my games($11-$33 structure).

Lots of games going to 50+ minutes now when that used to be fairly unusual.
