Moving from very low limits to 0.50/1.00

I've been playing Holdem limit at Stars (0.05/0.10) and Paradise (0.10/0.20) for about 6 months and now going to start playing at Party 0.50/1.00.

I've got PT, GameTime and am studying SSHE.

Low limits holdem.

I've got KK and raised preflop.

Flop is JJx.

I'm first to act.

Do I bet or check?

Ouch! that check-raise hurt.

I play on very loose tables, often with 7 or 8 fish (default PT classification).

I frequently get stung by check-raises. I'm playing pretty straightforwardly. Say I've got AA, then I'll raise...

Re: KTo hitting many draws

I would have bet the flop and then folded after his raise.

A raise with that board suggests he's got a made flush or at least the nut or second nut draw.

The turn then gives him the nut or...

Re: Post Blind or Wait for blinds when sitting down?

I forgot to mention that I complete the round I've already paid the blinds for. Not doing this is going to add more to the bb/hour loss.

Re: Post Blind or Wait for blinds when sitting down?

I play at micro-limits and change tables quite frequently -- I try to be on a table with over 55% seeing the flop.

I usually pay the blinds if I'm just off the button.

If I'm half-way round...

I think my QQ are second best but should I fold?

Microlimit Hold'em (10 handed), very loose, mostly fish. I am using PT Game Time but only have a few hands of villain's play.

I know SSHE says you should stay in a big pot if you've got even a...

Implied odds and loose tables.

I've just been reading about implied odds in GSHE. I've ignored implied odds so far as doing the mental arithmetic and playing my hand all at the same time is difficult.

I play limit holdem at...

Re: pocket 10\'s

On a table of ten, pocket tens have over 17% chance of winning against random hands. The nine random hands then have about 9% chance each.

I've been playing a few months and my PT stats for TT is...

Measuring luck

I usually post on the Beginner's forum but I really want to nail this problem.

You play 100 hands of limit holdem and you've got basic PT type stats.

If you end up down by 20bb how can you tell...

Reasons for downswings?

I've just read a long sequence of posts on a downswing in the Party beginner's tables in the micro-limits forum. It got me wondering how to tell what is the cause of a downswing.

Of course I know...
