Betting the river is a mistake. He will never fold a better hand after calling the turn and the river blanking off. The turn bet is for a free showdown unimproved, you got it, take it.

Ok I'll try. If someone has a 9, we are drawing dead, and we will surely hear from them on the turn, so its an easy fold if raised. If nobody has a 9, there just isn't that much to fear, sometimes...
