Re: 99 in the CO, fairly large pot

In a pot this big, won't those hands call anyway? It seemed like checking the flop increases the chance I can get someone (ideally in LP) to bet the turn, so then I can raise...

Re: was there an opportunity to get overcalls anywhere?

I think you played perfect. The pot was simply enormous, and apparently MP3 had a pretty good hand, so you definitely put in those raises. Any bets you *MIGHT* have gained by letting MP1 in more...

Re: Too aggressive vs. this limp re-raiser?

You do have to be wary of being against AA or KK dealing with a limp-reraiser, but if he's really aggressive he could be making this play with a bigger range of hands. (Say he wants to build a big...

ummm, two cards?

Depends on the blinds I guess. I'll steal with almost anything if the conditions are right.

Re: K8s In SB, and an EP Raiser. Should I play?

Yeah just fold. Your implied odds are only a little better than if you had to just cold-call the raise, and what's worse is you'll be first to act on every street. Save yourself the 1.5 SBs.

Re: A friend\'s hand (how is my analysis?)

Limping with K9s is fine. Raising the flop would have definitely been right. And if you get 3-bet, that doesn't even mean you're behind at Party 1/2. You have top pair and the backdoor club draw...

Re: JJ in the BB

Agreed, you played fine on all the streets. On the river you probably call, there's still just the one overcard. It's possible the the flop raiser has a queen, but there are plenty of other hands...

Re: An AKo line...

I would be a bit more aggressive on the earlier streets with TPTK. In both the hands, it's almost like you're slowplaying; TPTK is good, but not NOT strong, and as both hands have been 3-bet...

Playing a pocket pair vs. 1 overcard

Two examples. In both cases you're playing 2/4 online and you have TT on the button. There are two loose limpers from MP we'll say, and you raise, folding the blinds. The limpers call.

My...

Online bankroll management

I was just wondering roughly what my roll needs to be to play 2/4, and also 3/6 online. I typically play two tables just so I don't get bored and start playing bad hands....

Re: 10/20 ATs Hand My Friend Played

If you agree that you're not trying to thin the field then there is absolutely no reason to bet. You know UTG will bet and you can dafely get everyone to call 2 bets with a check-raise. ...

Re: Things that make ya go hmmmmm....

I would say you played it fine. If your table is that loose, 3-betting your overpair on the flop is certainly reasonable. And after it checked through on the turn, betting the river is fine too.

Re: K9s in the BB

Given that you know your opponent is loose, it would seem that there would be a wide range of hands which he could have and give you the action he did on the flop and turn. He could conceivably have...

Re: 55 on the button.

The temptation is there to smooth call and try to disguise your hand, but at this point, it really isn't necessary. Being deceptive about your hand isn't as important in 0.5/1 as it is, and by the...

Re: Do I want a call? (hand 1)

In the first situation, I believe your best case scenario is UTG calls and UTG+1 folds, and the 2nd best scenario is for no callers (assuming you currently have the best hand). UTG would be getting...

Re: Does anyone else do this? (repost, no responses on internet forum)

Seems like a good idea, and I like creating a "gambler" image for yourself when the game is SH so you get more action with your legitimate hands once the table fills up. The only thing is, at a...

I would not have 3-bet the river either. I can see how you would want to, because this is the kind of hand you feel like you should win. And you're right, there's a chance he could be raising you...

Given the amount of action there was post-flop, and the fact that Hero didn't improve, I think folding the river may have been correct. Yes, he does have TPTK and yes, these are loose, aggressive,...
