Re: Party to buy Betfair

It offends me when some Johnny-Come-Lately comes on to this site only to pump some dubious stock. Now stop lying to these people, there is only one way PRTY is going to buy anything and that is...

Re: New low for Party stock made today:

Fool,
1, if they are making so much cash, where are the earnings?
2, I'll tell you who cares about the US, Party does. It's 80% of their market.
3, their liability is huge, much much greater...

Re: New low for Party stock made today:

They don't deserve a PE above 20. You do the math. If they are not making earning now, why not?

You are partially correct. They will not be in court for fraud but for Racketeering under the...

Good morning. Concidering a mid-pocket pair

Consider being dealt pocket 10's. A player acting before you moves "All In" but the good news is he has a much smaller stack than you and he appears to be a loose player.

You begin to calculate...

Re: Does anyone have the math skills to isolate the variable, a.

A power series. If you entered a number of poker tournaments with a variable number of entrants you may ask yourself, "How often do I finish in the upper quarter". You would probably normaize your...

Can't anyone offer any suggestions on how variable, a, may be isolated.

Does anyone have the math skills to isolate the variable, a.

c is an arbitrary constant, a is a real number.

ln(a)
------- = c
(1 - a)

Isolate a.

Re: Standard Deviation Question, How to do it?

Thank you for your patience. I have a simple query about the precedence of operation on the relationship you quoted. Is this the same as you cited?

ln(a) . . [ln(0.04) + ln(0.15) + ln(0.33) +...

Re: Standard Deviation Question, How to do it?

These numbers are just data points of the percent of my finish.

Place Finished

Total Entrants

This was done in an attempt to normalize the data because the number of entrants...

Re: Standard Deviation Question, How to do it?

My question is first how is the variable, a, determined.

Assumung the upper quarter solution:
.04 + .15 + .33 + .47 = .99

1
- = (.99)^a
4

Log(.99}

Re: Pokerstars shuffle sources

I guess a better way to explain this is you cannot put physical constraints on even a purely random process without anomolies. A pseudo random generator, PRG, makes these anomonies more apparent. ...

Standard Deviation Question, How to do it?

In tournamentsd because the number of entrants vary I use the top percent of the finish. Using only 4 results, 4%, 15% 33% and 47% how would I calculate the Standard Deviation and the variance?

Re: Pokerstars shuffle sources

All PRG's have idiosycracies that make them non-random. ALL. As far as mouse movement, it will have the physical constraints of the window bounds that adds to the idiosychracy. I believe they would...

Re: calculating correct pot odds

That' funny. With the BoSox logo I thought you were in MA. Good luck in FLA, think your closest B&M's would then be in NJ or the river boats.

Re: calculating correct pot odds

When I started to post you hadn't posted yet. You know I would never disagree with you and always value you're input.

BTW: Is your B&M Foxwoods? And how often do you go there?
