Re: 3bet flop or c/r turn HU with vulnerable hand (hypothetical)

This board is way too dangerous to risk a whiffed c/r attempt. Lots of cards could come that you don't want villain to see cheaply.

Re: semi bluff out of position??

If they're your typical passives on 3/6, they're probably going to have hit something in this flop. I'd probably check and hope for a free card. Check/calling doesn't really work because the pot is...

Re: Rest of Flop and Turn

[ QUOTE ]
I think you have to consider the 7 as a fairly safe turn card and I'd consider it a pretty large mistake not raising this turn.

EDIT: I'd consider it a GIGANTIC mistake not to raise...

Re: two bleh hands from my day.

In hand 1, why do people like a turn raise so much more than a flop raise? Are the players in the hand capable of folding a jack on the turn to your raise?

Re: Adjusting my play -- PP 2/4 to AC live 4/8

I second the point about passive play. It's so easy to get good reads on most of the players. There are people who will never bet/raise and then suddenly wake up when a red 2 falls on a black board...

Re: AA v KQx flop with aggressive raising.

Play here is all read dependent.

If the quiet old lady who hasn't raised once in two hours raises you, you're probably done. If it's the guy who raises pretty much any 2 cards, call down. Even...

Re: AKo hand

Without some kind of read against a field this size, I will generally check the flop if checked to, or raise if one of the blinds bets to clear up a few outs in a large pot. If I don't improve on...

Re: pretty simple question

Unless you have some definite read on the guy that he'll frequently fold the turn, I'd check behind here too. There's a lot on this board that his action so far indicates that he could have hit. ...

Re: Bet A high on the river

You have to include the likely draws for us to make a reasonable decision. If the board is K72 rainbow, then he's probably not on a draw. If it's 78T, 2 hearts, he could much more easily be on a...

Re: Grand Tournament V

I didn't like that either...he lost well over 1 million chips. Seems like you could either stall or just fold every other hand to keep it even until he got back.

What about capping and bet/folding a blank turn?

Re: 20k break-even, time for a checkup

Ok, I misunderstood your post about 6-max. I think you can definitely get away with playing some slightly more marginal hands at 2/4 though. I think some more experience learning to play the...

Re: 20k break-even, time for a checkup

If almost 30% of your hands in this sample are at 6-max, you're probably playing too tight in a full ring (by your VPIP). Many people think 15.5% VPIP is too tight even for a full ring.

Re: 3/6 1010, unsure on all streets

I agree with the 3-bet preflop...why would you want to end up with 2 or 3 opponents instead of making it heads-up if you can?

I don't know if I can call this river. I like bet/folding the turn...

Re: 88 preflop question

You're already getting 10:2 to call the cap. If you're 7.5 to 1 against flopping a set, then why do you need to make up 5 big bets postflop?

You're in position, and you'll easily be able to make...

Re: Folding the best hand

This type of question gets tossed around on the MTT forum all the time. If you know that you had a 70/30 edge on the leader, then folding here would be absolutely crazy. Tournament pros take shots...

This happens because to enter a new game you must put money in the pot blindly. Also, if you don't post behind, you will also start with bad position. It takes a while to get a hand you...

Re: Folding preflop to a raise when you know you\'re dominated

You're getting 10.5 to 1 to call the raise when it's back to you, and you're closing the action so you don't have to worry about a re-raise behind you. The ONLY hand you're hoping isn't out there is...

Re: Raising Preflop

I've just been skimming some of these posts, but you said, "1) 95% of the time, if a player folds, you actually wanted him to call."

This simply isn't true.

Isn't all of this a Fundamental...

I play 2/3 NL at Commerce with a $100 buy-in, and you can very easily make $10/hr and a whole lot more.

Re: super standard? (boring overpair hand)

Given your read on the BB, I would consider AT as likly as a set (2 pair just isn't going to be there given your read). I would have three bet the turn. Given your current table image, I...

I'd bet/call.

Agreed. I'd expect him to either fold or show a low pp or an 8. I think you'd have heard from him on the turn with an ace or a 9.

Interesting PF call.

Why is this an interesting call? 3 limpers with position, and blinds likely to come along? I'm a bit tight preflop, and I'd limp this 10 times out...
