Re: Did i overplay this set?

If villian has a wheel it was given to him for free on the turn.

If you read him as reasonable I don't mind just calling the river bet - with such a multiway limped pot Axs type hands are...

Re: standard fold vs. LAG?

Why did you call him LAG and think a min-raise means the nuts? Have you seen him overplay TP hands before?

I'd be more concerned from a weak-tight player's flop raise than a LAG's.

There are...

Re: 25NL fullhouse on the turn - did i butcher it?

Because the most likely draw here is to a good 2nd best hand which will get hero paid.

I'm not saying give a free card, but no need to end the hand on the turn - make a normal value bet here and...

Re: standard fold vs. LAG?

PF is fine - use your standard PF raising method.

You described the villian as LAG - why do you respect his flop raise so much?

Re: 25NL fullhouse on the turn - did i butcher it?

They're not going to expect you to have a FH here, I'd just lead the turn for 2/3 pot or slightly less hoping both call. My goal here would be to win a good size pot if a blank comes on the river...

Re: NL 100 (6 max) - T9s

Well if that's your plan based upon your read then you're correct to call the river push.

His pf numbers plus the read you provided suggests he may also be weak-tight post flop (many small post...

Re: NL 100 (6 max) - T9s

Did you check the river to induce a bluff from a busted flush draw?

Re: JJ - flop all-in call

Mostly it's the 4 on the flop / 2 on the turn rule for counting outs. Perhaps Rainman could do this PokerStove during a hand. /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Main decision here is how often the...

Re: JJ - flop all-in call

I think it's most likely a coin-flip at best or your dominated at worst. If your two assumptions are valid (ie your /images/graemlins/heart.gif is good 50% of the time and he will make this play...

Re: Really bad hand, berate me

I was wondering that also. I didn't see a bluffy read provided for villian in the OP.

Re: Experiencing first big downswing...advice please.

At 25NL bonus is going to provide much higher returns than rb.

Re: Really bad hand, berate me

AJo is just one more hand you're adding. And as you say this is a default standard, against someone playing too many hands pf, I loosen up my isolation standards.

I'd also go Axs with x say 8...

Re: Borderline spots preflop

I would not reraise this from the BB with a hand too likely to be dominated. The safest thing would be to fold.

I'd likely call the minraise and check any flop, seeing how much others like the...

Re: Really bad hand, berate me

But if you're called by any A you're likely going to have TP with kicker problems.

AKo and AQo is as low as I'd raise a limper with here.

Re: Odds? NL50..

Your pair + fd + gs str8 was strong enough to raise the flop for a potential free turn card.

That A taints your str8 / 2pair outs and you should fold the turn.

Re: 100NL : hand series versus tough LAG - help!

[ QUOTE ]
Ok, I appreciate the replies, but I think the "bet more" line is much too simplistic. For one thing I was betting around 1/2 pot with hands and without, so betting 1/2 pot doesnt make it...

Re: I\'m going broke here everytime right? AKs 100NL

Would you consider a KK2 flop close enough to the nuts to bloat the pot?

Half a pot on the flop is laying 3:1 to a flush draw, which doesn't make them chase incorrectly.

Re: differences between 6max vs. full ring

Even though that's limit it's a great post.

6max will improve your game faster as you'll be playing around the blinds more often (stealing / defending) compared to full ring, and you also get to...

Re: I\'m going broke here everytime right? AKs 100NL

AK2 is preferable because a set of 7's is not possible on the AK2 board.

Re: 100NL : hand series versus tough LAG - help!

Overall you described him as LAG but he seems willing to be loose passive as well, calling you down with any piece of the flop. You don't need to leave the table, you can win money off him, but you...

Re: Do you fire the last cannon?

In his defense he was ahead until the river double paired the board.

He should have bet the river when you checked IMO, that would have put you in a tough spot.

Having the K /images/graemlins/spade.gif adds 9 more outs minus any villian may have giving you the odds to call the turn raise. Against someone playing this many hands and half our stack in...
