Re: 150/300 hand
I really like this hand and the discussion that has followed. At these high-stakes short-handed games often the absolutely more straight-forward than straight-forward play is completely overlooked....

Re: The evolution of the mid-high stakes forum
I absolutely agree with you, I tried to start a thread on this a few months ago, but nothing happened, I hope that this one is good. I give some more of my thoughts when I read the thread.

Re: Critique this
Wow, you hit a nice draw there, I would semi-bluff, for like $1000.
(I think you played it well).

Re: 150/300 bellagio hand
I can't see any other way to play this hand. I know that it is tempting to raise the turn but I see absolutely no point in it, assuming Seat 5 will raise with a good ace. I assume you are going to...

Re: How can randomness possibly exist?
The OP tacitly assumes that ALL real knowledge is governed in accepting the determinacy of science (I don't know much about quantum stuff). The gaps or disconnects, the insuffiencies of science in...

Re: How can randomness possibly exist?
Your post is fascinating because it shows the absolute dominance of scientific epistemology. That is, the only knowledge taken as valuable is that which is "scientific". Scientific here refers...

Re: How Does Derb Play?
First, DERB will play extremely aggressively postflop, with a definite consideration of position. He defend his blinds with a very wide range and also cold calls a lot in position with easily...

Re: No one answered me question!!!
God choosing "destinies" does not limit human free will necessarily. Humans have free will, but they will do a certain thing - this is reasonable. One can still have a choice when one will eventually...

Re: Restating the Paradox
Haven't read any of the responses, but Leibniz has an answer, you decide if it's acceptable. God instantiates the best of all possible worlds. The fact that we were chosen is determined but our...

Re: A dubious flop reraise
An interesting opinion. I think that I would have to be sure that this is the kind of guy who definately fold QQ and TT on the turn, and might even fold AQ or AT. I don't really like your play,...

Re: Too Standard?
I'm now thinking that it is best to check against a good known player and bet against, a weak player, which was the case here. Still, I don't know what I would do with a turn raise ... thoughts?

Re: Too Standard?
If he was folding overs on the turn, not betting would be a much bigger mistake, assuming not betting is a mistake. It a huge difference in terms of EV.
What should I do if I bet and get raised on...

Re: Too Standard?
I thought that if he had aa or kk or qq he would probably just call the flop once the other player had folded, in order to raise me on the turn. If I was ahead, he had six outs and wasn't folding. If...

Too Standard?
Bu is 25/19 after about 50 hands, he has been playing a a bit passive on flop and aggro on turn. Co is 30/12 after the same. I'm playing under a new sn, and have been tight and showing only winners...

Re: Post-Skins Party 30-60
Here's a little worthless anecdotal evidence, but it should demonstrate a point.
First 50K+ hands at 20/40 and 30/60, 3.7bb/100. Next 17K hands -1.5bb/100.
VARIANCE, never underestimate,...
