Re: Hand from sweat session

Thank you very much for your comments so far. Here's my thinking.

I actually would have check/folded the flop here since the pot was small and the board looked pretty scary to me. The guy sweating...

Hand from sweat session

This hand is from a sweat session. Neither of us are really sure about what to do.

SB is 68/4/1.5 over 50 hands
BTN is 39/4/0.9 over 138 hands
CO is 54/9/1.9 over 46 hands

Edited to say that...

Re: spewing with ace high?

An AF of 1.7 doesn't indicate passive play when the player plays 50% of his hands.

Re: ATo preflop - I have no idea

[ QUOTE ]
how do you give a 2-gap bdsd draw 1 out? i pointed out that this is >90 to 1. and how do you give an A 3 outs?

LOTS of room for argument there.

I agree that 5.5 outs...

Re: ATo preflop - I have no idea

You're absolutely right, my comment about nice implied odds is clearly wrong.

Re: I get check raised 3 times, no (censored)

I'm not saying never to raise here, but when somebody says this is a "must raise", I think they could benefit from reading the article I referred to.

Again, I weren't trying to be a jerk, I just...

Yea sorry about that. I'm just tired after a whole night of playing.

Anyway, I would put us at 3 outs, any ace. I don't count those backdoor thingies as outs, but our equity would be...

Re: ATo preflop - I have no idea

I remember a lot of discussion about wether to raise of limp hands like ATo KQo and KJo from EP. Especially I remember some excellent posts from GrunchCan arguing a preflop raise with these hands....

Re: ATo preflop - I have no idea

I weren't telling OP to raise the flop. I was arguing a preflop raise and a flop call. How many outs do you think we have on the flop? I think that we have enough to call getting 11-1.

Re: ATo preflop - I have no idea

This game is 8-handed and you have a pretty good hand that plays better short handed than multiway, thus the preflop raise.

I definitely think we have enough of a hand to peel on the flop here...

Re: ATo preflop - I have no idea

I'm raising this preflop. Getting 11-1 with your overcard and a couple of backdoor draws I think you can call this flop.

I don't like that you don't like this at all. This is a must raise.

Ok, so I did some more math. Maybe this is a waste of time but I'd like to make the numbers a bit more comprehensible. I calculated the value of a bet/check in a number of different situations under...

Re: Big draw OOP against a possible steal

I think you've made a mistake in your EV calculations. If I copy paste your calculations I end up with.

EV of betting: 2.04 SB
EV of checking: 2.08 SB

I will do some more math and get back to...

Re: Big draw OOP against a possible steal

I think an important point of Entity's posts in the excellent Qtip thread is that we WANT bets to go in on the flop here. If the board texture makes it more likely that someone will bet or raise we...

Re: TPGK and Flush-Draw against Maniac

I'm not talking about the river here, but on the flop and turn we are never WB because of our flush outs. How often we are WA depends on how reliable the LAG read is. I think your range is too narrow...
