Re: The Boston Area Game @ Ray\'s House...

black comedy has nothing to do with race, genius...look it up.

Point is, I was trying to warn folks, post some serious comments, and all of a sudden there are gut-shots and giggles. Regardless of...

Re: Let\'s Start a Boston Area Unsafe Home Game

You guys are all hillarious. Why not save the black humor for another thread. This was a serious event, a friend of mine and Scotty's got shot. Grow up.

We had a private game stormed by three gunmen this week. They got the bank and shot the host of the game in the leg. The money is lost, but everyone is fine.

It was most likely someone that...

Re: set over set

In the words of The Coach...when you have two monster hands, one person is SUPPOSED to lose all their money.

When you have a good hand, you have to play it. That's poker. If you have a read on...

Re: As the stacks get deeper, how should that affect your play?

Turn up the aggression factor a bit. Play position more. Don't sit down with a small enough stack that you feel intimidated.

Re: NL books?

There are lots of good books out there. Assuming you have gone through all the standard books - Sklansky & Malmuth, Brunson, etc. I usually recommend the following for people getting into PL/NL...

Re: Hit and run!

When I play, I'm shooting to hit my daily "nut". Some days I do, some days I don't. I play PL/NL (or tourneys), so when I do, I might have exceded that goal by a decent amount and want to protect...

Re: Anyone else in the PS 250k tonight?

Agree with Shaniac. I play em every week, and going into mid-tourney with below average is a losing proposition. Get some chips early, but do it with solid play. Then when the bigger blinds/antes...

I agree with Myrtle.

He may have "debated" the logic of your play, but not "berrated"...it's just not in Greg's character.

Re: Should the wait be long during the week at Foxwoods?

It's not that bad. The low limit tables have incredibly long lists, yes. The higher limits are a bit shorter, but don't move as fast. Be sure to take advantage of Dinner Reseating if you get up to...

Re: slow play the set?

Agree 100% with Richie Rich. My comment was going to be that if a Straight draw, Flush draw or a Board Pair is on the board then beware...bet the set strong but cautiously. We have probably all...

Re: All-in with QQ

My opinion is based more on the stage of the tourney, your chip stack, and your position. You played it fine.

In an early spot like that, people may put you on a stronger hand and fold potential...
