Re: 67s hits trips

Why don't you think he has an 8? I could certainly see 89 calling the flop bet, as well as some flush draw containing the 8h. At $25NL I don't think the average player ever considers that someone...

Re: 3-betting KK preflop (and how much)

At $25NL the average player's pre-flop reraising range is AA-JJ,AK, and maybe AQ,TT or 99. I push this here every time. At$25NL the average player isn't folding KK,QQ,JJ,or AK to an all-in pre...

Re: When to fold the overpairs?

I have no real answer. When I get aces, I have a kung-foo death grip on them and I lose my stack nearly every time they get outflopped unless the flop is very scary. Even on the turn or river I...

Re: KK pre-flop laydown

Well every time I had "that feeling" my opponent has AA when I have KK, I put all my money in the middle, and every time, I was correct, he had AA and I went broke. The one time I folded KK was...

Re: first hand at table - play hard or let go?

Check fold the flop. Against three players with two cards in the "playing zone" on the flop it's very unlikely you are ahead here.

Re: Friend\'s PPNL200 baby set.

No way I fold this because if I did, I start crying like a little girl the times my opponents flip over AA,KK,QQ, or even a horribly overplayed AT and I would have won a huge pot.

TP/TK facing all-in, pay off the small stack?

Party $25NL 6-max. Hero is UTG with AcKc. Villain is UTG+1 with $14.50 He's 33/0/1.2 after about two orbits, no real read though.

pre flop: hero raises to $1.25,villain calls $1.25, CO calls...

Re: bet the river with overpair?

I bet the rest of his money here. I have seen a similar line taken with 88-TT, that is, the donk min-raise pre flop, followed by the smooth call of the reraise, followed by the donk flop...

Re: Pushing All In Is Fun

Maybe I'm clueless, or just weak tight, but if villain is solid and raising from UTG, why not just muck AQ pre-flop? What hands could he be raising with that you beat? You also have terrible...

Help me with playing this QQ situation

A similar situation has come up twice for me recently. In both hands I am dealt QQ in an early position. In both hands I am reraised by an unknown player who just sat down at the table with a full...

Why do I bother making blocking bets?

...If I'm just going to call their raises anyway. If I can beat these games, it doesn't say too much for the 90% who can't.

Re: Can\'t understand why I don\'t do well online (long)

I am living proof that you don't have to be good at poker to be a winning player. I consistently win both online and live, and my game is full of holes big enough to drive a [censored] Mack truck...

Re: Ever OK to slow-play trips?

I know this is being results oriented, but every time I flop trips in an unraised pot, someone with a small pocket pair turns a full house on me and I lose my stack with A9 on a board of 9926 rainbow...

Re: I was berated for being a fish on this one

Borderline fishy, but not horrible. I would have either raised PF or on the flop.

KK flops an ace multi-way, what\'s my flop plan?

Poker Stars $25NL 6-max. I have been at the table for a few orbits. Player A is sitting to my immediate left. He's an absolute donkey calling station who really never met two cards he didn't like. ...

Re: QQ-no idea how to play this-badly butchered?

Hypothetical:

What if villain pushes turn? Could I really fold for $14 more in a $24 pot? Given that this is $25NL and I am facing an unkonwn where I am left to guess, and stacks are 100BB or...

QQ-no idea how to play this-badly butchered?

Re: top set on the turn... checkraise or fire?

Maybe I'm being results oriented because of a similar hand I had the other day, but I say bet right out, half the pot and you will have all his money. What hands could he have called with on that...

Re: Passive Fish Springs to Life on River (HU)

Fold, there are too many hands a calling station can have here that you are behind. It has been my experience that passive players won't show resistance to an opponent who has been betting at them...

Re: AJ when do you lay down top 2 pair

How many players in the hand? Any limpers in before you? I'm wondering why you didn't bring AJ in for a raise instead of limping? Once you limped though, I think you have to fold to a raise.
