Re: What do you do? Line checks, BBuddy and unknown

[ QUOTE ]
He wasn't trying to get anyone to fold. He was building a pot with a drawing hand.

[/ QUOTE ]

Ummm.... a better way to put it, is he has a pretty good hand and position. Raise for...

Re: How Often Do You Donk The Turn Here?

My standard line here in short-handed games against aggro opponents is to call pre-flop and check/raise this flop planning to go to the river. Cackle with glee when he tries to put you on a hand.

Re: Regarding the rake at 6-max...

The rake per player is much higher. The cardrooms are making a KILLING on these games.

You have to play more pots with a smaller edge.
These pots are activly contested either via the silly calls...

Re: Call River with AQo Unimproved?

He doesn't look like the sort I want to be bluffing off pots. Figure a call has a -EV of $3-4ish at worst. Small price to show that you will showdown with Ace high.

Re: Bet this river?

I don't like betting more than you have to in order to freeze him. I don't like giving good implied odds to suck-out on my pair, nor to reward slow-play.

Then again I play 100NL and under-betting...

Re: Call River with AQo Unimproved?

I don't think it matter much. If you plan on hanging around the table for a couple more hours, I'm inclined to call this.

Re: AK ON THE BUTTON 50nl

Your friend needs to learn how to bet. 1/2 pot the flop (hope to get re-raised), on the turn I'm looking at stack sizes and figuring out what it's going to take to get all the money in.

Call, if you push he might fold a hand with 2 or fewer outs.

Re: Bet this river?

$50, if he just mindlessly pushes the raise button, then it's a stupid-easy call.

Re: This is an absolutely standard fold, right?

[ QUOTE ]
Bet/fold is my standard line.

[/ QUOTE ]

How much? If he calls what's your river line on a blank?

Re: A good example of a casual mistake.

[ QUOTE ]

But what if you check, UTG+2 bets, and MP3 raises? Don't you have to cold-call?

[/ QUOTE ]

Given the pot size, I think we can just let this one go.

Re: Do I need to bet to win this pot?

[ QUOTE ]
PF I either raise or fold this hand. If I know the blinds won't fold then I don't even consider playing it. How many disagree with this?

Re: Most Effective Flop Betting Amount?

Re: kk vs maniac, dangerous monotone flop

Re: kk vs maniac, dangerous monotone flop

Push is terrible. I'd much rather check and let him bluff the turn if I want to get it all in here.

Re: kk vs maniac, dangerous monotone flop

This is out of my league, but as a small stakes NLHE and LHE player, must I point out the pot size relative to the money behind? Just about any bet ties us to the pot. Even if we're a 60/40ish dog...

Re: Choosing not to make a continuation bet when the flop sucks

Continuation bets are more a matter of what's in the other guy's hand.

Re: Your strategy for $25-$40/hr playing poker???

Play fewer, better tables and learn to play poker. A run at 3/6 or higher 6 max would probably do wonders for your game. Then move up or add more tables again. I can do those kind of numbers quad...

Re: $2/$4 FPS or good read?

Given that he posted, I think you have to give him a wider range as even the kinda-nitty guys will tend to find a spot like this to get out of line.

c/r all-in with the nut straight oop, silly or standard?

Table is weak/tight/passive with a couple soft spots (BB is one)
BB is a big fat loose/passive fish.
