Re: allen C. rereraise on river with three AAA, can\'t be good

I don't think the "Have you PLAYED Omaha?!?!" crowd can properly distinguish between your standard Omaha Hi PL cash game and final table huge-blind Omaha. It's really somewhat of a hybrid of the...

Re: allen C. rereraise on river with three AAA, can\'t be good

Not many hands fit the board. After the turn, only A6 makes a full house, and it (along with AA and 66) would usually be bet by this point. After the river, add AK, KK and K6 to the full house list....

Re: Standard Push?

I'm not quite clear as to why it's riskier to raise 3x rather than all-in. Just commit to calling a re-raise. If he's slow-playing a big hand, you're dead either way. If he's trying to big-league you...

Re: $22s, good bubble push?

I think raising is definitely the play. A full pot bet is usually an indicator of weakness in the 22s. You'll usually see a raiser who hits the flop (or has an overpair) bet more in the 2/3ish range....

Re: Help me settle this dispute with a 2+2er ($215)

I think the difference between betting and checking is negligible. I'm a subscriber of the "when truly in doubt, bet" line of thinking, but I don't think anyone's getting rich exploiting the edge on...

Re: 1st hand - Flop decision with AK

[ QUOTE ]
Good discussion guys.
One point nobody mentioned yet is the presence of the 2 players behind me. I guess that doesn't change the situation much in this case, but what about when the flop...

Because the chance that he folds now is greater than the chance he won't shove the rest of it on any turn with Ax.

That's an argument AGAINST pushing, right?

Re: Loose call?

I say push. You don't want to fold QQ to JJ on an Axx flop, and you don't want to let AK get away on a numbered flop. If you're beat, so be it. Can't put him on AA or KK with that big a raise.

Re: 1st hand - Flop decision with AK

I call. Only card that completes a draw is a 10. If he's bluffing, let him try it again on the turn. If he has a weaker ace, let him "protect" it again on the turn. If you're beat, you're broke in...

You are good enough to beat the higher levels, but then the smaller levels are -EV becasue you should be playing at a higher limit.

19 card counter

I will NEVER understand card-counters. I did it for a few months in my vagabond years. Sure, it's a way to make a living. But that's it. It's a REAL JOB....

Re: 8 vs. 12 Tabling

I really think this subject comes down to the love of the game. If you are really skilled at poker, then you certainly can make a living at the game. If you love it, then by all means, do it. Enjoy...

Re: Don\'t like 1-table SNGs with multiple places paying

In a cash game, and I believe a winner take all game, you should take any edge at any time (ignoring gambler's ruin which I don't think applies unless you are playing your whole BR). Any...

Re: Don\'t like 1-table SNGs with multiple places paying

Personally, I LOVE getting two hands per round without posting a blind, when we're one elimination away from the money. In most SnGs, a 4-person table with a clearly-defined short stack is basically...

Re: \"Fold, keep your image tight so you can steal more later\"

I agree wholeheartedly with the opinion that image is virtually meaningless in the SnG arena. If you're playing long sessions against the same opponents, then "set-up" plays are powerful tools. As...
