Re: How to become \"great\"?

1) discipline
2) great hand reading ability
3) thorough understanding of "fold early/push late"
4) memorization of all-in prices
5) creativity

That is 'all' you need to be great at SnGs. Good...

The thing that jumps out at me is the win rate you have in level 1 is way way below mine. I am on a new computer and don't have my PT stats but I know that my level 1 win rate...

Re: Another Boring Stats Post

If you could rearrange the finishes where some 4ths were distributed to 1, 2 & 3 it would undoubtedly be a good thing. Unfortunately, one needs to bust out on the bubble a fair amount in his pursuit...

I have played a fair amount of tournies with you and you seem like a good player. These stats would seem to confirm that.

Re: $55: Overpair in level 1

No, if I raise PF with this hand then with 2 or less opps I am leading at almost every flop. With 3 I lead if no A or K. IMO, that is how you have to play it if you raise preflop.

In the hand you...

Re: $55: Overpair in level 1

So, I guess my fold PF line went over well. LOL.

The reason I like to limp fold in this situation is twofold 1) to setup a later limp/rr and 2) because my inner demon really really likes to play...

Re: $55: Overpair in level 1

I am a fan of folding this preflop after the raise. Or raise instead of open limp.

Both of those lines I like better than the way you played it.

Limp fold I like to do early to set up the...

Re: Unusual PF play.

If you will also do this with AA then I like it, if you won't then I don't. I will do this with 99+, AKs occasionaly. The danger of playing this way if you won't play AA like this should be obvious.

I would say less than 5% of low level SNG players could achieve greater than 30% ROI.

Re: 109- AK limp raise

I will make this play rarely with AKs. I think you will get good results on this move alone, plus you will get more action on limp/rr with AA and KK.

109 have a lot of the same players who will...

I haven't 8 tabled very much, so most of my results are 3-6 tabling. I have 18% ROI at 55s with over 5000 played and 12% at 109 with over 2000 played. I make lots of mistakes but the more I...
