It also matters if you are a touch typist or just a hunt an pecker. Most of the ergonomic keyboard advantages will be lost on someone who hunts and pecks.

Re: Using a VGA monitor with a DVI video card?

Yeah looks like that video card only has connectors for VGA and DVI-D. From what I've read, the DVI-D cannot be converted to analog like DVI-I can. Which means it won't support being connected to a...

Re: Video Card Question

According to this (http://www.intel.com/products/chipsets/gma900/gma900.pdf), it says it supports up to 2048x1536 @85hz. So yes it should be good enough to support 1900x1200.

Re: Which kind of monitor do I need?

Most sites use 800x600 tables, so 1600x1200 will fit four with no overlap.

Re: Rate my new computer purchase

Nice setup. Looks like you had a reason for what you bought, and you did your research. Good system for the money. Do you plan on overclocking?

For spending under $700, I give it a 10/10

Strong draw against a few players

Pre-flop and flop are pretty standard, but I'm wondering about the turn. I've picked up a few more outs with the straight draw. An ace may also be an out, I'm not sure. So should I bet for value...

Re: I hate getting CR\'ed on the river

Sorry for the lack of reads. I hadn't been at the table very long. Looking back on it, I see that villian is 58/6.45/1.7, but thats after only 31 hands.

The bet on the river is purely for...

I hate getting CR\'ed on the river

Do you think I'm good 1 in 8 here? I'm not so sure. I think not paying these off has been a big help to my game. Either that, or a big leak. Thoughts?

Re: Games minimized with dual monitors

I have one 19" Samsung LCD and one Samsung 19" CRT. Both monitors are at 1280x1024. The LCD is set as my primary monitor, and is hooked up to the VGA out of my video card. The CRT is hooked up to...

Games minimized with dual monitors

Okay I'm currently running a dual monitor setup, also running Ultramon. Both monitors are running off the same Radeon 9250. I like to play games occasionally. But I would like to be able to surf...

Re: Another Comp Build Post

Ah the stupid overclocking forums have corrupted my brain. I have decided to go with an Opteron 144 processor instead of the 3200+. It has 1MB of L2 cache opposed to the 512kb of the 3200+. I...

Re: Another Comp Build Post

Thanks a lot for the advice guys. Mike, while researching mobos and processors, I got more interested into the OC'ing process. I think it is probably something I would do, although I probably would...

Re: Another Comp Build Post

Well, I've done some more research on the board, and a few people have been using the Corsair Value Ram with no problems. The Kingston would probably work too, but I'll be on the safe side. Also,...

Re: So I think I\'m ready to move up

Well, like I said, it is a little tighter and more aggressive. I think I can average about 10bb/100 or so if I stick to one table. Reads are slightly more important, and I was watching The Price Is...

Re: Another Comp Build Post

Thanks for the resposes. I've changed it to an Antec SmartPower 2.0 500W PSU. As far as the motherboard, that is the one thing I wanted to keep. From a lot of the reviews I've read, it is one of...

Re: So I think I\'m ready to move up

Well I decided to take my shot this morning. I don't see why you guys are making such a big deal about this. 50/100 isn't that much different than the .50/1 games. I have found I needed to play...

Re: So I think I\'m ready to move up

Well, as you can see, I win just about every hand I play. So that shouldn't be a problem. And anyway, I have backers that are salivating at the mouth to back me, so if it came down to it, I know i...

Re: So I think I\'m ready to move up

I know I'm not on a hot streak. My sample size is pretty large, and it's fairly easy to conclude that I am one of the best players on this forum. I am giving lessons now btw, PM me if interested.
