Re: AK TPTK +FD

The $8 bet in my eyes screams weakness. That said i like trying to build the pot here. I'll usually raise to $35. If he reraises i call and look to try and get it allin on the turn. If he calls...

Re: Am I donking away chips here?

[ QUOTE ]
I prefer playing poker. See what happens on the turn.

Overpairs are more likely to fold on the flop push.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think this is a very bad option as we're commiting half...

Re: Am I donking away chips here?

You're gonna run into an overpair much more often than a set here. You played it fine/perfectly postflop.

Did I miss value?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yup. You got a lot of money in there preflop so once you hit your flop you're just gonna have to go broke with TPTK. When you check-call the turn...

Re: 2/4 NL- More folding

[ QUOTE ]

When all is said and done, results would be appreciated.

[/ QUOTE ]

My guess would be that hero folded and did not see villians hand. It's irrelevant though. People can get...

Re: 2/4 NL- More folding

[ QUOTE ]
I would advocate a smaller bets on the flop and turn.

[/ QUOTE ]

Funny, i'd advocate a small overbet on the turn to help protect hero's hand and to make it an easier call if...

Re: 2/4 NL- More folding

I'm not folding this. Especially given your reads but even without any reads. Many people play a set, two pair, an overpair, or even TPTK this way. Just too many possibilities to let this one go...

Re: Laying down KK for one bet. Good play?

preflop: real raise > calling > minraising > folding

minraising wasn't your worst option but it's pretty close. And then you call a $100 reraise that puts you in an awkward spot because he's...

Aggie,
I don't think my opinion is ridiculous at all. For instance, I would have no problem with AZK playing because he is putting in a lot of work. However, I think it is ridiculous that...

Re: medium strength hand against maniac

[ QUOTE ]
Turn: Less than half the pot? Why? This bet gives him odds to draw, and invites him to move you off your hand. Stack sizes are pretty awkward, here, though. Honestly, I'm not really sure...

medium strength hand against maniac

Villian is 58/29 and very aggressive post flop after 60 hands. He's been calling down when he's got any piece (although he hasn't had to do so in a big pot). This is the second time i reraised him...

Ok, I've stated my opinion (I think it is pointless to have a highstakes player as champion of the midstakes tournament, don't see much of a point), but good luck to all particpants.

Re: Weak-tight or well-done? TPTK, NL200

[ QUOTE ]
Question to all those who say fold the flop. Why re-raise with a set on a completely un-coordinated board?

[/ QUOTE ]

can't answer that. Folding on this flop, IMO, is awful!!!

What kind of player would call two raises with a crappy one-gapper in one scenario, and then lay down a set on a board that he's gotta think he's dominating in another?

Also, does anyone think that the $800 turn bet is a mistake?

[/ QUOTE ]

I agree that a pottish sized bet would be better and it would make the rest of the hand play easier.
