Re: Rate this river fold - blind battle 10/20

in a blind battle, i dont fold this for one more bet on the river. With 12 BB in the pot, you have to be good fairly less than 10%, which i'd say you are.

Re: AKs and an unorthodox play

i dont see any specific merits here over the 3-bet turn, lead river line. except possibly giving him the chance to bluff out the river(?).

Re: Odd line... how much did I screw up and how badly?

the way you played it, i'd check planning on calling the river. fold preflop, fold or call one on the flop, though. eh. a fold preflop takes away the wicked hard decisions you have to make postflop.

Re: was this a bad play?

dont raise the turn. take it to river and fold UI. then you can get a value raise on the river if you trip, two pair, or flush up. you're not pushing him off an ace or MAYBE even a ten here.

Re: hmmm, now what?

bet/fold to a raise. the donk in the hand and the absence of button aggression on the turn (plus his raise pf making it less likely he has a seven) give you some good equity. if button knows the donk...

Re: Interesting hand I think...

i dont think you are folding out a better hand almost ever, and you are having to pay two for your flush draw. i check/call here, then you can usually get a c/r on the flush if you hit.

Re: All streets debatable. I think?

i call the flop three-bet planning to checkraise the turn. 50 hands is not close to enough to know whether he'll only take this aggro line with a set (the only flopped hand that beats you). given the...

too tight?

Table full of donks, but not overly- average vpip among them was about 35. I felt like this was the right fold to make, but when they all showed down at the end, i put the equity in pokerstove and I...

Re: Openraising from the CO, followup on my stat post

i raise the a8 and a7, but never play the 107s and never play the 87s or 76s. I'll even raise the k9 before i'll play the smaller suited connectors.

Re: 10/20 6max: bets in weird places - KTo

I raise the flop. The way you played it, I check/call river though. Are you folding to a raise?

Re: I flop a set and play like a complete vag

why not raise the flop to protect? pot's not big enough so the other players are coming with gutshots alone.

Achieving your VP$IP

I recently started datamining at Party 5/10 and I was wondering approximately how many hands it takes to get a good read on another player's VP$IP . I'm wondering if I should be a little more wary...

Re: Help me figure out why I apparently suck at 5/10 6max pt. 1: JJ

depends on how loose and how passive. Is he likely to be playing many sevens utg? (47s 57s 67s 78 are common loose favorites) many 10s utg? (i love those 105s limpers) If so, you should bet for value...

Re: Iffy flop call and a river I can\'t play properly

check/call hoping to catch a bluff or a low pair. the river A just makes it less likely he was checking behind his bad kicker on the turn, and you beat busted hearts, big cards like kq (which i have...

Re: K-high on the river; A rare bluff from me

check/calling even a tame board like this j-high is suicide with k-high, seeing as how he three-bet preflop. unless he's a maniac, you lose to EVERYTHING.

Re: Why Poker?

going to make a wholehearted effort to pay for graduate school in two years, though the recent 250BB downswing puts a kink in that plan. learning is damn expensive!
