Re: How did the early players do it?

Definitely not suggesting it's the rule rather than the exception but, for the guys who are in the rooms everyday making their living off of tourists, this is an example of one way they can do it.

Re: Good Taj stories?

This is for all those "I'm playing 10-20 for the first time, not sure if I'm ready, any advice?" posts.

I'm playing 10-20 one night. Straddling isn't allowed so this guy just waits for his cards...

Re: Blinds Battle at the Bell

Standard line on every street by him if he has a decent A. I don't like raising the flop with an A here is if he's a good player who can find a fold even with a piece of it. This seems like a good...

Re: Results

This was a steam detour I'd take again for that reason but otherwise I'll play the flop faster or charge the draws on the turn like everyone else.

How do YOU act in these situations?

[/ QUOTE ]

He could have you on overs and be playing you instead of his hand by agro betting. He could be on a draw and agro semi-bluffing. He...

I posted this hand because I always take the standard line of raising the turn here, like everyone suggests, but waited for the river instead for the reason Avid mentioned about messing with him...

Live 20-40. Villain plays pretty good but is steaming right now from the previous big hand he folded to me, asked me what I had and I left him hanging in the wind to wonder about it.

Villain calls...

Re: Bellagio 50/100: Biggest laydown in my life, Idiot or Genius?

There's times to try and save a BB and times to just check/call down. This was a nice pot. I'd just call down here on 5th.

Live 20/40 Have played about 4 hours with Villain. He's solid and hasn't gotten out of line from EP. I've been playing well, very tight, running good and up a couple of racks.

This hand was...

Picking on the new guy.

[ QUOTE ]
Thought I'd share a hand that should have hit the muck on third when I was raised, but then a loose call on my end led to disaster. Hell, I dont know though. You tell me how bad it is.

Re: Stud vs Hold Em (low content)

I think when a very good player is h/u against a very bad player, the bad player will need more luck to win at holdem.

That's because the good player will come into many hands in holdem without a...

Re: stars 30/60, i am too safe = sorry?

After capping the flop and raising the turn he's a lock to bet the river, so I'd just call the raise and check/call the river. This looks like one of those times where the 1 in the 4:1 odds hit and...

Re: Nut straight + weak full redraw

The flop you hit is close to a good one for you. A gut shot. That's how bad the hand is. 4 cards under a 6.
