Re: LImping with AK and AQ in early levels

The reason I don't raise in early position is the times you get one caller behind me, the flop comes 25J, I continuation bet and he goes all in with 77. This happens way too often.

Re: Knowing that the next one to act will push

You definitely want to play it, even more so if the sb will push any 2. A 3BB raise sounds good, and call a push from him.

Re: Bubble...akward spot...push check?

Not enough info. I play on party, but I suspect my standard play would be to raise to 400 and then decide what to do if someone pushes (dependent on my read and my hand).

Re: LImping with AK and AQ in early levels

I limp in early position, raise in late. Simple as that.

Re: 6.5$ flop straight push turn?

[ QUOTE ]
You don't fold it because someone "could be playing a monster".

[/ QUOTE ]

C'mon, that's not what he meant. I think it's a very, very easy call btw.

Re: 6.5$ flop straight push turn?

[ QUOTE ]
Raise?? That's far too LAG for me.

[/ QUOTE ]

It would be rare that I raise. Limping is my default play.

Re: 6.5$ flop straight push turn?

I limp here a lot, and raise the rest of the time.

Re: Don\'t you just hate those min-raises...

Easy fold. He probably has something, and he's probably not letting it go at the 22/33s.

Re: Custer Hand #3(BP): 16BB, TT in BB, facing mini-raise from SB

[ QUOTE ]

Let's put it this way: Once it gets to the sb, I'm never folding preflop.

Re: ($215 custer) raising KQ utg seems to get you into a lot of trouble...

[ QUOTE ]
all things being the same, is there any hand that is ok to raise UTG (300) and fold to the CO's push (975)?

[/ QUOTE ]

Nope!

Re: New to SNG\'s, question on pre-flop play.

[ QUOTE ]

I've always followed the 5-10% rule, where it's ok to play any speculative hand for less than 5% of your stack, never more than 10%, and inbetween is at your discretion. I've been...

Re: Bubble...These situations are way too tempting

[ QUOTE ]
Have you not noticed the SB is actually shaving off 150 of his stack in this hand, so he's down to virtually a third of your stack anyway?

[/ QUOTE ]

I took it to mean that he...

Re: Bubble...These situations are way too tempting

The thing that's influencing me the most is that you're effectively also a shortstack, and if you keep folding the "real" shortstack could overtake you before you know it. He goes all next hand with...

Re: Bubble...These situations are way too tempting

I'm sorry but I have to disagree, I think he's folding quite a lot, even if he's wrong by doing so. And if he calls I think I like the probability that he has Ax. Lastly, I hate folding into the...

Re: Bubble...These situations are way too tempting

Crap, I read it as hero was UTG and it was he who min-raised. But, I don't think the big stack is calling a reraise anythink like 99.9% of the time, and if he does call, I like how AQ fares against...

Re: Two Pair folded on the turn.

It's really tough. If he isn't tricky I'd put him on a flopped flush or a flopped set. His miniraise might indicate a strong hand, and QQ, TT, AA and KK beat you. He could also have a random 7. Or he...

Re: Bubble...These situations are way too tempting

If the BB calls he halves his stack, so I don't think he's calling with live cards a lot. If the SB calls you're probably dominating or 50/50. I'm delighted to go all-in here.

Re: 55: Big Stacks Duel on the Bubble

I love the way you played it until you called the flop 3-bet. He certainly has you beat. Were you worried about metagame factors?

Re: ($55) Get away from this QQ?

I couldn't get away from it. I've seen some ridiculous Ax hands played this way.

Edit: Reads can obviously be very helpful here.

Re: $11: is this more okay since blinds were about to go up?

[ QUOTE ]
Blinds were going to 75/150 next hand. Against a loose range, SNGPT says this is +0.3%, so pretty much neutral. Should I more heavily consider this kind of move given that blinds were...

Re: $11:

Yep I see people calling this with 77 up in the 109s, plus AT up. You're definitely either raising or folding. You can't call in the 800 chip structure. I'd probably fold most of the time.

Re: Moses (Custer) hand and How do I watch these hand histories?

raising: also not smart. 66 is not a premium hand here (it's obviously a great pushing hand during late game). if you raise 3x or 2.5x or whatever, either BB and SB might call thinking...

Re: HU SNGs, not enough info, good sources?

55 x 15% ROI = 8.25 per sng. 3.5 tables per hour so 3.5 x 8.25= $28.9 per hour. So by your calculations you would make more playing heads up. I think it's a bit of a stretch to expect to win 70% of...
