Re: How do you play big pairs against a flush draw?

I think one thing you fail to mention is pot size. If the pot is big enough then really there is nothing much short of 3-betting the flop that will make your opponent fold and waiting until the turn...

Re: SSHE rundown

The short answer is "no". But if you concnetrate on the post flop sections, and especially the sections on "hidden outs" and playing marginal hands you will see how the SS game can be very...

Re: Determining if Im getting unlucky or outplayed.

Remember what the first few pages of SSH said? Something to the effect that when learning the game of poker it is different from learning tennis. Your mind is set to receive feedback and when that...

Re: AJs - Against TAG

I would fold on the turn UI. The cutoff and the button both like their hands enough and I can't be sure of my outs. Even if they called with something like A-x. Most likely holdings would be a PP.

Are you talking about the button being the villan?

Re: QQ, hand protection, and being the calling station

The way the hand played out I would likely put the MP on something like AK, AQ. Post flop it appears that a bet or raise is for value at this point. But raising on the turn could be more...

Re: 1/2 Is there a huge difference in play?

I find that with 1/2 you do need to increase your skill set. If you revert to the pre-flop starting recommendations in SSH for a tight table, you should do fine. Eventually you will notice in...

Re: Is this too weak or saving bets?

I think your line was right here. Although you might want to consider if the turn was different, checking on the flop and raising on the river to protect your hand. Am I wrong in thinking this line?

Re: TP w/ BB but flush board

I agree 3-betting the flop is not the best line.

Re: AQs...

Facing two players with overcards and b/d flush draw, with this hand I would tend to fold rather than call. Although the board is not as coordinated to make straights and flushes the UTG player has...

Re: Should I valuebet the river on this multi-way pot?

Bet the river. You may get overcalls from weaker hands.

Re: AC recommendation

The trop is a good place. I know a lot of people complain about the service which can be slow. I had a great time, it was my first venture into a B&M cardroom and I had a blast. I played $2/$4 and...

Re: Should I have been more aggressive on the flop?

I figured that this hand would make 2nd best more often, I did consider the blinds and they played weak-tight (would a raise be in order for a steal)? Thanks for pointing out my outs. I sometimes...

Re: Finished SSH....next book should be...?

I found the section on reading hands from TOP to be very informative. It (TOP) does usually refer to the type of game and player so it makes you focus on the player. A good read but I would go back...

Re: confused by c/r, how to proceed?

What hands could you possibly put the SB on? With a check raise from the SB my thinking would be a set or 2 pair and he is trying to protect, you may be ahead or way behind. I think your call down...
