Re: Betting hard at a good draw on the turn

he's open-ended too.

I think this is for value.

Re: Nut straight but board pairs on river

What is he capping flop and turn with?

AT win
AJ lose
KQ split
AK doubtful
77 doubtful and we lose
TT lose

The only reasonable hand he can be capping with that we beat is AT

Re: Nut straight but board pairs on river

I like check/calling here.

We are splitting or losing an awful lot here, no sense in wasting bets when we aren't going to be winning the whole pot very much.

Re: Wiping off the fullring rust

You are very much right, against typical opponents. Against LAGs however, they like to check-raise anything.

Wiping off the fullring rust

Got started on party and the beginner tables today, had a nice session, but had a few hands come up that I'd like some input on.

Opp is a standard LAG here, 77/18/2.2 Did I not push hard...

Re: AJo......Stage 1 of play along

Probably not since I have more outs if I'm not ahead, and can redraw against a flush more often.

Re: Your opinions on another Top 2 Pair hand please ?

eh preflop should probably be raise or fold. KJ doesnt' play well multiway, so you want to get it as shorthanded as possible, or don't play at all.

Flop you need to raise right away. The pot is...

Re: How easy is foxwoods 5/10?

Eh well I went, played 4/8, and lost 10bb an hour for 3 hours before I finally said screw it and left :/

And the downswing continues.

Thanks for the advice guys

Re: Flop trips and stop-n-go?

No he's definetely a fish /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Edit: so you don't like my line? You'd prefer to just shut out the player in the middle and raise the flop?

Flop trips and stop-n-go?

No read on the person in the middle, late position is a fish.
My thinking is I don't want to blow middle position away with a raise on the flop, and I might be able to get the fish to raise again on...

Re: JJ - Turn Play

::hand bias because I saw mp2 checked behind::

This is a pretty scary card for other players. I'd probably just lead out with it.

Re: River value raise.

If he's that loose, he's not going to fold a random spade here, which is what we are really hoping to do by raising IMO.

Re: At what point do you call a riv bet HU w. A high?

Weird paradox:
The bigger the pot, the more correct it is to call with A-high mathematically. However, the bigger the pot, the worse the chances are that A-high wins because people are obviously...

Re: Anybody struggle to win in live games while beating online easily?

BTW, a small note. I've only had 4 sessions of IRL play, total of 20-25 hours, 3 2/4 sessions and today was my first 4/8 session. Although in that timeframe I'm down like a lot, $500ish :/ Some of...

Anybody struggle to win in live games while beating online easily?

This is obviously a samplesize issue, and I'm just venting a bit, but man is it frustrating being a solid online player, consistent winner over a few dozen thousand hands, and yet I've never had a...

Re: Was this fishy play?

Am I misreading this hand or something? We have the third nuts, the only thing that beats us is 44 and AK, why aren't we raising?

Re: Remeber that article about the kid robbing the bank?

Variance sucks.

I'm a college student, and live at home. I've always been a winning poker player, ever since I made my first deposit. Yet EVERY DAY I play my parents will ask me "how are you...

Re: SSHE starting hands question

Also to add to this is that it says right in the book that the starting hand charts were made suboptimal to make them easier to memorize. A lot of the situations for early and middle position were...

Re: AKs played wrong?

I probably play it the same way. Waiting for the turn gets an extra .5 BB with minimal risk. I'd probably cap the turn, because we are almost always ahead here. The only semi-realistic hand we...

Re: How easy is foxwoods 5/10?

Oh ok, this is more what I thought the situation was, except I thought that the blinds got increased too for the round.

I don't really feel comfortable messing around with a game like that, so I'm...

Re: How easy is foxwoods 5/10?

Oh, I thought that the blinds doubled for the foxwoods kill?

So the only difference is if the pot gets to $100, the winner of the pot posts a live straddle next round?

Re: moving up too quickly

I totally agree with this, however I feel 10,000 hands is a respectable number to shoot for before moving up.
