Re: Any Cache Creek reports? (CA Indian Casino)...

I was there for two weeknights in Sept. They were spreading only 3/6 and 4/8 (one 4/8 had a full kill). PLO?? ROTFL... there's no PLO in Northern California as far as I know, and finding it in SoCal...

Re: Lucky Chances / Oaks / Bay 101

FYI The Oaks did not get rid of their time charge. They just rake $3 from every pot - unlike Lucky Chances which forces a $3 blind bet.

Interestingly, Bay 101 in San Jose switched to an Oaks style...

Re: Looking for a San Francisco Home Game

Hi

I moved to SF last year and am trying to start a game. It will be pot limit, casino games only. People seem leery about pot-limit, so I am starting with 25/50 cent blinds and a $50 buy-in, so...

Re: Dealer puts young punk in his place

Headphones + hat + shades + hooded sweatshirt... sounds like a jackpot!

When I'm sizing up tables, I always look for as many of the above a s possible. Those "World Poker Tour, TV punks" are not...

Re: Vegas or LA? Where should I go?

Well if you've never been to LA, it would seem to be a no-brainer. But even if you had been, I'd choose LA.

Golf in LA is better, cheaper and more varied than those sterile surreal $120-a-round LV...

Re: Reno - is it worth it?

I have only played at the Hilton, Cal-Neva and one other downtown in Reno, and thought that Harvey's in Tahoe was much softer than any of those.

Re: Excuse me sir...Please check your straight flush...Thank you...

Twice I have been in a similar situation. One time at Artichoke Joe's in San Bruno, playing hold 'em I had quads and bet them as I should, an OPEN-ENDED straight flush draw folded to me, and the...

Re: Where to stay in LA

Best value on the west side - Sun Bay Motel in Culver City on Washington, less than $60 for a single person. Less than 2 mi from Venice beach and handy to the Marina Fwy for the short trip to...

West-coast PL B&M games

Anyone know of card rooms or casinos in California/Nevada or close that regularly spread pot-limit Hold'em or Omaha? I have been to a number that claim to do so, but when asked, they say they haven't...

Re: 99 in MP- 1st time playing party 3/6

Raise the turn; if you had a read on the yet-to-acts you might want to call on the river for value... you had no read so it's a toss-up, in that case raise the river as well.

Re: Where to play in SF bay area

bigfishhead:

I checked out Casino San Pablo for the first time and you were so right. I had a profitable evening despite mucking the best hand of the evening:

8h10h in the big blind. A rabbit...

Re: Where to play in SF bay area

If you are in Oakland obviously the Oaks due to its proximity should be your first choice. They have both a (smaller) rake and time charge, compared to 1 small bet on the button at AJ's and LC, so I...

Re: Cache Creek?

I went to Cache Creek once. I found my 3/6 table (w/ a full kill) to be very soft in general, although looking at the other tables there seemed to be a lot of old fellas with big stacks of chips.

Re: Softest / Loosest Omaha8 games in Bay Area, LA, Reno and LV

I would agree with you about the main game at Bay101, Dave. Tight oldfellas and slick props.

Somebody told me the game at California Grand in Pacheco was loose - anyone been there?

Anyone...

Re: Vegas Golf

The Desert Rose is decent value (for Vegas) at around $65-75. It is a county-owned course on the east side of Vegas. It isn't bad and most other courses will get you for $120 or more. They have a...

Re: LA to SF road trip

There are a number of *small* card rooms just off the 101 in Ventura, Oceano, Grover Beach, Paso Robles and Salinas. The only one I have been to is the Player's Club in Ventura. They usually spread...

Hi

I'm conducting an informal poll on the softest and loosest O8 games in the west. (I know of a few but want to know more! ;-)

Softest: Artichoke Joe's, San Bruno, Fridays
Loosest: Bay 101,...
