Re: $25 Home STT: Bottom set in BB vs huge stack and loose passive

Just shove the flop after the button raises.

Re: Fold 1010 to single raise here?

I'm fine with a fold here given your read. I think his hand range is somewhere around 88+, AQ+. You are basically a coinflip against this range, but I think it's actually a bit worse than it...

Re: (PS 10+1) Review these hands

Hand 1. I like the flop check but think you need to raise the turn a lot more.

Hand 2. Looks good

Hand 3. Looks good

Hand 4. I don't like the minraise UTG. This is push or fold...

Stars 16 turbo QQ on an AAAK board

Real early in Stars $15+1 Turbo. Blinds 10/20, all 9 players left around 1500 chips.

UTG makes it 60, two folds, Hero makes it 180 with QQ, suits unimportant. All fold back to UTG who calls.

Re: KK: raise more on flop?

I don't understand the flop raise. Are you dumping it if an A, 3 or spade hits? It would appear you are committed with this raise.

The chips in the middle represent almost half your stack, and...

Re: $55 How do you handle situations like this?

With these stacks your fequity is less than you might think.

Re: $55: Overpair on paired board facing an All-in

This sucks. What makes this really difficult is you not only have to figure out your equity against MP3's range from a bizarre bet, you have to account for the fact that either of the two guys who...

Re: TPGK versus checkraise allin level 1 (15 turbo)

[ QUOTE ]
AQ is only good to take small/medium pots early.

Dangerous thinking, friend.

Re: TPGK versus checkraise allin level 1 (15 turbo)

It is close.

But a significant portion of the "good" players in these games play sets and two pair this way, which I believe skews it into fold territory.

Re: TPGK versus checkraise allin level 1 (15 turbo)

Yup, if you called this everytime, I think it would be slightly -EV, not as bad as we imagine, and that you'd be truly surprised at what sort of hands you see.

Turbos make people really...

Re: TPGK versus checkraise allin level 1 (15 turbo)

As others have said, this is a fold at this point without a read that the BB is obscenely bad.

But I'd feel a lot better about folding here if I'd bet more, your bet looks weak and probably...

Re: Curtains Hand #1

The preflop raise has everything to do with curtains stack, methinks. I'm betting he makes this steal raise FAR more frequently with 2K in chips vs. 1K. If the BB is a 2+2'er it certainly figures...

Re: $11, JJ in EP facing raise from UTG+1

I just call preflop, and, as weak as it sounds, fold this flop without a read on the PFR.

The combination of his EP minraise followed by his full pot bet into 3 callers on this board leads me to...

Re: $11: Check my JJ line

How much did he open for with QQ and KK on the other tables? If we know he opens big pairs for a smaller amount, we can discount his range accordingly.

How did he double up?

His raise suggests...

Re: ($16) JJ in the bb versus 6xbb bet and cold call

I think I'd push too, though I'm not terribly excited about it, it does seem better than calling or folding. I also agree with the hand ranges you've put your opponents on. I wouldn't be surprised...

Re: ($27) Bubble push in the SB.

Easy push. He has to have an insanely wide calling range for this not to be +EV.

Re: What is he Thinking?

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot is your problem? It's clear from some of your other posts you have some sort of problem with curtains. Good for you, but don't clog up the boards with this garbage. I fail to...

Re: $55 - Ballsy? Stupid? Stupid Balls?

Re: Pushing three times in one orbit.

I didn't intend to suggest that to ICM the situation you needed to do more than loosen the ranges. I meant to convey that something beyond a normal adjustment occurs after you push several times in...

Re: Facing a Bubble Push from Short Stack

You should be pretty snug with your stack in this situation, you have 20 BB's.

It sounds as if your abundance of bronzes are the result of not being aggressive enough with 4-6 players left. ...

Re: Pushing three times in one orbit.

I think it's even more than just them adjusting their calling ranges, though that obviously occurs. It becomes emotional to them, they become infuriated with your "ruining of the game."

You will...

Yes!

I think about this a lot since I play the turbos on stars myself.

I like to think of it as my fequity tank. I imagine it like a health or mana meter in a video game on my monitor. It...
