Re: KK with an ace on turn

Even so, you should be betting this turn. If SB checkraises, well then you have decision to make (this is where your read or lack thereof becomes more significant). For what it's worth, you're...

Re: Suited trash in the small bline

Thanks for the response. This is how I've treated them lately, but as we all do when we're experiencing downswings, I'm desperately seeking every little bit of EV I can find.

Suited trash in the small bline

Ed Miller discusses completing in the SB with most suited hands in multiway pots, but notes that doing so may not be correct if the small blind is less than 1/2 of the BB.

I'm guessing there is...

Any got any quick fixes to transfer only selected information to a new database?

Hold me, I\'m a poker player in the midst of \"the 200BB downswing\"

So, I've just recently decided to put more time into poker to see if I can make it a significant percentage of my income. I had beaten the Party 3/6 consistently for over a year and was humming...

Re: 1st SS post

This looks fine to me. I think a river bet is in order unless you have a read that this player is very passive.

I'd be shocked if it happened, but I think you can lay down the hand if you're...

Re: Who raises this river?

The river is the only postflop street that I think you played correctly.

Re: Am I one of THEM?

In a very passive game, when 5-7 of your opponents will be seeing the flop, I think you can make this marginal call (the $3 button post helps, but I'd like it better if you were the button yourself).

Re: 52s Against JBB -- Cleaning Up Outs

I have to vouch for sthief on this one.

GreyW, I am coming at this from the relatively objective perpesctive of an occasional player on the "NY poker scene." Having played with this woman now...

Re: Better line to take here?? Like folding?

You should be raising this preflop about 99% of the time (in LP against one limper).

After that, you would need a hell of a read to lay this down on the turn (i.e., opponent has a very low...

Re: Calling down with TT

Cap this preflop. And stay aggressive on a raggy J-high board postflop. If nothing else, aggression will provide you with information about your opponents' hands, thus allowing you to make better...

Re: A clue or two

In retrospect, I didn't do a good job of active hand reading here. By that I mean, I considered possible hands, but called because of a remote possibility that I was good.

I figured Brad could...

A clue or two

I was UTG. I won't say I played the hand well, but I was in a very tough spot.

I could've folded the turn, and I almost certainly should've folded to the river raise, but I fished out and called...

Re: Thursday afternoon NCAA Tourney Games

Only Iowa looks like a good bet to me. The spreads on the other two look to be right where they should be.

Also, I never like laying points against a 12-seed in this tournament.

Re: i love this tourney line

I've got this game very close to a pick-em. Creighton +3.5 was the bet I made, but not sure I would've made it at +2, where the line is now.

Creighton is a good team from an underrated conference...
