Re: Ace is the highest, deuce is the lowest

As a general rule when OOP against one or two loose/passive opponents on the river either bet/fold or check/fold and forget about check/call. Here I would bet and expect to get called by a worse...

Re: Turn Check

Calling a river bet/betting if checked to? Sure.

Re: Ace is the highest, deuce is the lowest

Bet. Check/calling OOP against these two passive opponents is a lousy line. Or were you check/folding?

Re: Reverse Implied Odds?

Like jason said, limping is fine. But it should be a profitable hand unless you really play poorly postflop so folding is bad.

Re: Is it time to move up?

I don't really like discussing BB/100 here. Everyone has room for improvement in this game. I just mentioned it because there is a definite difference in expectation for ANYONE between the times...

Re: Reverse Implied Odds?

Not correct. You'll win less often. But that doesn't mean you'll lose money or win less money.

Re: Is it time to move up?

Yeah, what Qtip said. Weekday morning/early afternoon games sort of suck compared to later times/weekends. But having evenings and weekends free sort of rocks. Anyway, there's a big big difference...

Re: KQo from early against a lagtard maniac

It depends on if he is a maniac in the literal sense that he will never call or fold. If that's the case then you should cap all streets. If his continual raising actually may indicate a...

Re: Well...

I think it's close. I can see the check/fold line on the river here. But it sucks when he bets his AK (which he has probably 1/3 of the time or more) and you have to fold. He certainly has to be a...

Re: Live Game - Incorporating reads

I never said hero should bet the turn. I was simply pointing out that from button's point of view calling a bet instead of raising is no less of a mistake than checking instead of betting. Button's...

Re: Live Game - Incorporating reads

You can disagree for reasons other than expectation. But from an expectation standpoint the mistakes are exactly equivalent. And that's all that really matters.

Re: 2/4 - 99 OOP - Something a little different

"wow" as in putting in 3 BB's on the turn here is really bad. Calling a river raise especially after he c/raises the turn is really bad. Raising the turn seems bad to me as well considering he...

Re: AKo - Time for a laydown?

He can't fold this turn. No way. The opponent has another AK more than 5% of the time. When he's behind he often has 7 outs and ~5 discounted. That's if he's always drawing...which he isn't. And...

Re: 2/4 - 99 OOP - Something a little different

No, it's for value whenever his hand is best. If he checks most better hands will bet but some worse hands that will call a bet will check through if given the chance. IF UTG missed a draw he'll...

Re: 2/4 - 99 OOP - Something a little different

Interesting one.

Given the turn play the river bet is good. The turn is close but I would play it the same. You're pretty likely to be ahead of MP1 (50%+). You're maybe 35-40% against UTG's...

Re: AA, 4th suits hits the river

I call without even thinking about it. Bad players like to bluff. They watch it on the wpt. Players that like to bluff like to bluff scary cards.

Re: On Folding the River

Nice post. I agree with everything except that it seems like an easy fold...for reasons you already stated.

Are you reading books again? I wish

you would stop that xxxx and just play. /images/graemlins/wink.gif

I'd 3-bet AJo from either position and fold QJo from either.

As per your post below...I don't believe position has to be...

Re: End of year review. Some common situations.

The stop and go just screams...I like my hand...a little...please don't raise.

That's why it's a good line with a big hand but a pretty lousy line with a hand you can't even call a raise with but...

Re: AJo in CO withTAG in SB

AJ/KJ likely 3-bets the turn and AA isn't likely 3-betting the river.

Re: Spewing out of the Blind?

Rico,

I like the flop play and I think the river is close. If he called the turn with AK/AQ/AT he'll likely call the river as well getting 8:1 and knowing you may play a decent draw this way at...

Re: End of year review. Some common situations.

Bet/folding when he raises his draw again on the turn is a disaster.

Bet/calling a two outer is bigger mistake than offering a free card to a hand that has a lot of outs and will call a bet but...

Re: HU against a \"PT\'er\"

Flop...eh whatever. Seems a bit loose to me but not horrid.

I think you should bet the river. He could have AK or even AQ and will check through but may call a bet. He may see your bet line as...

Re: 10/20 Q9s

Seems to me if UTG is passive you're not getting 3-bet very often which is probably good since you'll be HU some of the time after the raise but your hand is almost never good as is...even to the...
