Re: buy in for loose games vs tight games.

Just rebuy if you get low /images/graemlins/smile.gif You are going to see the most variance in a loose aggressive game. In general, it's high aggression that increases variance, not looseness or...

Re: I can\'t win.

Some stat differences:

- I call on the flop twice as much as you (18%)
- My folded to river bet is 33%.

It seems you are pumping up the flop/turn with hands like AKo and then folding the...

I averaged 6bb/100 after my first 5,500 hands of full ring $5/$10. I then lost (-2bb/100) over my next 10,000 hands. I am now at <font...

Re: Bluffed on the turn, now what?

A lot players don't understand value-betting, especially on the river.

The A/images/graemlins/club.gif is a scare card to him. I think he has QJ or KJ a lot here /images/graemlins/frown.gif

AKo against a maniac

Villain is 60/3/2.24 after 100 hands. He doesn't raise pre-flop, but he plays almost every hand and bets/raises with anything or with nothing. So far he's been kicking my arse and I'm down 18BB at...

Re: Folded TPTK on flop?

No way I'd fold that flop. He is aggressive enough to do that with AJ for instance.

Players that cold-call pre-flop are often more aggressive post-flop, even with "marginal" hands.

Re: Checkup on stats...

Your stealing work needs help. I know it's not a huge issue at your limits, but you should be stealing 35% and not be folding to steals so much.

Raise pre-flop more. Try to never open-limp.

Re: AJo in the CO

I agree with raising the flop with try to isolate, but I also end spewing bigtime when I come in second best to the third player.

It's a tough hand and you don't have much equity on the turn.

Re: JTs--play along

You have a marginal hand with a marginal draw.

Peel a card. raising the flop is spewing. You might raise the turn if you pair up with a non-heart (3 outs).

Can you work out your total win/loss over these 108 examples?

Also, that must have been a hell of a scary board to call a river raise with quads /images/graemlins/smile.gif

another note

I have bet folded 18 times. I've only folded top pair 3 times on the river.

The above stats would indicate that calling a river-raise with just a pair is not profitable so many I should...

Of the 30,132 limit hands I have in poker tracker, I have had called a river bet raise 108 times. I have won or split 38 times.

Re: KQ on the river: value bet?

Looking at his post-flop aggression numbers (0.66), I don't think he is firing twice with AKo or an under pair.

With only 7% PFR and the 3bet out of the blind, he has shown a lot of strength.

I...

Why bet/fold so much?

I notice that this forum advocates bet/folding the river a lot. However, the biggest mistake in limit hold'em is to fold to one bet on the river, particularly in a large pot.

Doesn't bet/folding...
