Re: AK Help

I'm not sure that I understood this.
My read is: you are trying to bluff me out from this thread. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: AK Help

Reverse roles. Imagine how would you play this hand from the other side. You attempted to limp with KT-KQ suited. Somebody raised, you decided to call (for whatever reasons). Now flop comes 55K. Do...

Re: AK Help

Do you think it was played right on the flop? Hero pot bet the flop - could be interpreted as CB. Then showed signs of weaknes to a raise. Why not reraise on the flop? Are you afraid of 5 or KK here?...

Re: AK Help

First - I'm struggling with AK too. But here is what I think about this hand: he limped from UTG, flop is 55K is one of the best flops I can imagine for AK. I'd be aggressive on the flop and respond...

Re: I need your help - AK, AQ

Hand 1: 2/3 bet will pot commit me. I'd have ~25 left to a huge pot. I don't think I'd be able to fold it to any river...

Hand 2: Your read would be trips?

Hand 3: I think this is good...

Re: I need your help - AK, AQ

[ QUOTE ]

5. If the flop comes something like QJT do not continuation bet. Or if the flop is QJ2 or KJ2. Basically two face cards, and you didn't get a piece, don't continuation bet. Any ragged...

Re: Few sample hands

1. I pushed. With exactly reasoning you've provided. The other option was to check, but that would give my opponent a free card. His tightess scared me and at the same time mislead me. My thought...

Re: I need your help - AK, AQ

Thanks for you suggesion.
I think I'm trying to do something like that. May be I'm doing it not right though. I try to vary it around 50%, sometimes betting 1/3, sometimes betting 3/4 or even full...

Re: Few sample hands

hand 1: I had about $56 left at that moment. Pot size was ~$50. Leading for $30 or $40 would leave me with $26 or $16. What card on the river can justify laying my hand down?

hand 2: I had no...

Re: Few sample hands

Missed your question about hand count. Same sampling size as yours, 70 sutied, 200 off suit. Same thing for AQ.

Re: Few sample hands

1. So push is justified? What if I have a read about my oponent? Lets say he is a very very tight player.

2. You call the river. The river is another A. He pushes. Your actions?

3. I bet $20....

Re: I need your help - AK, AQ

Thanks for your response. With a little bit variance that's how I play it most of the time.

I guess my biggest problem so far is figuring out when I am beaten. Like you mentioned in (6) 3rd bet...

Re: KJ facing all in.

What hands your opponent can limp in from early position at this limit and then raise/re-raise with? Vast majority of these hands are much better than yours 2 pair: KQ, T9, Tx hearts, AT. Moreover...

Re: How do I control pot odds?

If he thinks after the flop that he has 14 outs, he should put you allin on the flop or call your allin. If he is good he might think that in fact he has 8 strong outs and 6 weaker outs that need to...

Re: How do I control pot odds?

Betting 3/4 IMO more aggressive approach of playing this hand.
After betting 3/4 of the pot almost doesn't matter what turn brings: you can lay your hand down only to K or Q no clubs. Corrupting...

Re: 1/2 nl live AQo

Quick decision is quite easy and already been suggested - folding will not hurt you much. For calling here you need strong reads on your oppnents in order to narrow down hands they might be having...

How I played it.

I called $5 reraise on the flop (pot ~$40).
On the turn he bet $20, I called it. (pot $100)
River was a low card, keeping the board the same - 3 diamonds, with AKQ. He bet $30, I called it (pot...

Re: Big Slick hits on the flop

JT was exactly prime suspect.
But I was not ruling out a trap - he was BB with only one player to the pot.

Re: Big Slick hits on the flop

JT is exactly what I was worried about at this point. I kinda agree with idea raising harder for the information.
Question is what info I will get from raising to $25 exept his possible fold? Still...

Re: Big Slick hits on the flop

How much would you like to pay for the show down?
Is callin $20 and $30 bets on the turn and the river is about right (or close to right) play?
I can't see myself raising after the action on the...
