Re: TS 1/2 100NL, \"deep stacked\"

Wrong forum.

[ QUOTE ]
Normally, his betting was normal like 3/4 pot on flop, at least half pot on flop

[/ QUOTE ]

Given this assesment, you should fold the flop.

I'm mostly a SnG player just getting back into ring games, but am I the only one that folds this preflop?

It's definitely not unreasonable to consider folding preflop...

Re: AKs calls big raise and keeps getting called down??

[ QUOTE ]
Grunch, can you explain what possible reason you would want to open push this flop for?

[/ QUOTE ]

Fold equity against AK, or to insure max value from KK. In both cases, I'd need...

Re: AKs calls big raise and keeps getting called down??

To be clear, your preflop raise was fine. I was commenting on flop & turn.

BB's preflop action is very strong. He does have something, but that something isn't limited to AA. Limiting BB's...

Re: KK played very weak

Did the 7/images/graemlins/diamond.gif improve his hand? Well, unless he has 87, you don't care. He is acting like his hand improved & is now better than yours; he looks like he wants a raise. If...

Re: live flush board w/ trips

glch. The minraise + flatcall on the flop convince me that a set is usually no good here. But you're 2:1 to fill up by the river, and 4:1 to sill up on the turn. Since you're going to have to call...

Re: Flopped set vs. potential flopped flush. line check.

If you were planning to call any turn raise on your $3, you should have just pushed instead. That's probably what I would have done.

Re: fire the third barrel?

I think you see QJ or TT often enough to commit you to this pot. I can see check-call, but not check-fold.

Re: AKs calls big raise and keeps getting called down??

Horrible bets on the flop & turn. Why such a small bet? He's correct to call with a gutshot; you're making it difficult for your opponent to make a mistake.

Given your stack, you should either...

Re: fire the third barrel?

Your post title implies that you think you're bluffing. Do you think this?

I like every street. I'd probably bet slightly less on the turn, but your PSB is fine, too.

Re: open raising trash on the button

This post is far too vague to give any specific, concrete advice.

That said, I will give a vague giudeline I play by.

Deciding to open-raise PF with the intent to steal the blinds is balanced...

Sure, maybe. But can you quantify that at all?

For example, let's atart with the assumption the the opponent flopped a set of QQ. He open-checked both the flop and the turn. Obviously he...

Re: arg (ssnl 2p2 tourney name)

No, I don't think that option was open to us. (I didn't instantiate the tourney)

The structure is that of a normal Stars MTT: 1500 chips, 15 minute blinds starting at 10/20. They go:

10/20...

Re: tough 55 hand

Well, I think I do disagree. I think AA and AK might fold to a 3bet, not not normally. Putting anumber on it, I'd say AA and AK fold 25% of the time.

Now, who's right? That's the question...

I agree with mason. I took a break once a while back when I started running bad & playing poorly. My motivation was lacking, and I was not doing well. I took 6 weeks off from poker totally. I...

Re: tough 55 hand

I was originally going to say 3-bet the turn, but then I reconsidered after reading Fallen Hero's post. Now I put the opponent's range at: AA, KK, QQ or AK. Each equally possible.

AA = 6 ways...

Re: Bankroll Requirements

I have always agreed with pzhon that buying short can be the most +EV play, depending on who you are and where you're playing.

But I disagree that buying for 50BB is ever right, if 50BB isn't...

Re: Check/push a bad idea?

Oh, I thought the focus of your question was the push, not the check.

No, I don't much care for the attempt to check-raise here. It's a fairly dry flop, and you are the preflop aggressor. If you...

Re: hand im not proud of #2

I hate the advice to call the river bet. The opponent didn't play A-high here. He has something. I don't think there's even a 13% chance that he's playing a draw.

I don't hate the advice to...
