Re: Hold\'em Hand Analysis
Thanks, but didn't really answer my question...
I know the answer is 499/990 however, I think this is right...
a) Any heart will win (324/990)
b) Any 3 except with a 9 (66/990)
c) Any Q except...

Hold\'em Hand Analysis
You are heads up at the end of a tournament. You look down at your pocket cards to see Qh-3h. The flop comes 3c-Kh-Th and your opponent moves all-in and you call. Your opponent flips over 9h-9s.

Re: Pockets hitting set or quads?
If I said "what is the chance of flopping a set or better when holding two pair"?
=(2/50 x 48/49 x 48/48 x 3C2)
=11.755% or 1 in 8.51 times
Since you can't flop a type of straight or flush...

Re: Pockets hitting set or quads?
Well I think I worked it out...
The answer is:
=(2/50 x 48/49 x 47/48 x 3C1) + (2/50 x 1/49 x 48/48 x 3C2)
=(2/50 x 48/49 x 48/48 x 3C1)
=11.755%
Can someone please confirm?

Pockets hitting set or quads?
Hi All
I want to work out the probability of hitting a set (3) or quads (4) on the flop when you hold a pocket pair in texas hold'em?
I thought it might be:

Re: quads 7/300
I calculate the chance of hitting quads to be approximately 1 in 1041 hands. Therefore to get 7 or more from 300 hands is very remote!

Re: Pot odds v Implied odds
This is a $10+$1 single table tournament and not a cash game!
Mathematically what is the optimal solution assuming your opponent has the nuts (i.e. Kd-Kh) after the flop?

Assuming that my analysis above it correct, I see it is directly relevant what the level of blinds are for whether you call or not. If the blinds are $300-$600 (as per the above example) then a call...

Re: Texas Holdem Hands Probability
Another way to look at it
Probability working is as follows:
P(pair) = 1 x 3/51
P(suited connector) = 1 x 2/51
P(A-x suited) = 1/13 x 12/51 x 2 but we remove A-2 and A-K which was covered by...
