Re: Should I finish college? (long)
You are a good friend, and I admire your skills as a poker player greatly. We have had some good times together and it's been a pleasure getting to know you.
Rather than follow what everyone else...

Re: 5/10NL, KK hand vs Viffer
Seeing what I've seen on this forum about viffer, I like a check behind on the turn here, and a call of up to a pot sized bet on the river no matter what hits. It would not be out of the question...

Re: Gag. Flop decision. 600 nl
save for the preflop call (which more just depends on player - i prob make it too for 9 into 45), this hand was played nearly perfectly. Even if he has a boat, you can't fold. Further, he's priced...

Re: vegas trip report and hand
Unfortunately you need to call the river raise based on the information we have about this guy Viffer.
That said, I really would prefer a check/call on the river. He is going to bluff with almost...

TT with position
Interesting hand from last night, and I'm 90% sure I made the right move, but would like to hear everyone else's thought process.
Loose agressive 3/6 game 6max game. Playing fairly deep, I have...

Re: Moving up Math help
Listen guys, I'm way over bankrolled for the 55s and even the 109s.
I wrote this post looking for some math analysis of how my exact hourly rate might be affected by higher payouts but longer game...

Moving up Math help
Hi all:
I used to play NL cash games, 3/6 and 5/10 before deciding that I was more comfortable in SNGs because I was attracted to a game with less variance.
I've been 8 tabling $33 sngs for a...

Re: $15+$1 Turbo - I Can\'t Fold, Can I?
No at this point you cant fold, bc you only have 700 chips left, youll be the shortstack and blinds are 50/100.
That said, in this type of situation, I'd check/raise the flop hard or allin. Get...

Re: whoops
I really think this is a huge smooth call. UTG may lay down AQ or better, but it's doubtful. If UTG also smooth calls, you check/fold it down.
I think all that a push does here is get you called...

Re: whoops
It's impossible for him to flopped the straight, so you can rule that out. If he's only got 300 chips, he probably plays a 2pr a little slower.
So, he's probably got a weaker queen or jack, or...

Re: $11 PS - turn bet too low?
He calls off 40% of his stack here with one card to come. I don't think your bet is bad, but it seems to me that you're worried about more than the flush draw...you're worried about the 7.
In a...

Re: $215: Interesting use of the min. bet
I agree this hand is really fantastically interesting. If I couldn't see the board, I'd say that the betting felt like an ambiguous overpair, but with a queen high flop, that leaves only KK and AA. ...

Re: RESULTS
I really dont think hes folding K9 here. The type of player that makes that sort of raise with K9 doesn't mind calling another 1200 to see a showdown.
Once again, I'm not saying that I NEVER push...

He probably has a mid pair or if you're lucky, JJ. This is a trivial push.

Re: Don\'t Get 4th! $109
His hand is likely weaker than yours because of his 3.5x BB raise. Were he looking to get action and bust a smaller stack, he'd more than likely raise it 2.5x or a simple 3x to 900.
The problem...

Re: Classic Donk Raise - Your move??
I agree that fold is certainly a reasonable option. However, I believe that push is the optimal play here. Here's why:
Let's say he has a mid pocket pair 33-88 60% of the time. He folds this to...

Re: Another Early Push
Listen it's possible that he flopped the nut straight, a set, or two pair. But even in $30s, I see donks make moves like this with top and middle pair. If he flopped a set, youre in bad shape. If...

Classic Donk Raise - Your move??
Just thought I'd post this to see how a variety of people play the following hand. What do you think is +EV here and why?
You are in the Big Blind with AQo, all fold to button who makes a 6xBB...

Re: Most wonderfully played hand ever. 109
Frankly, I think this hand was played very poorly. I have no problem limping with QQ. I do like to raise however, because normally there are enough people willing to pay 3x or 4x pf.
That said,...
