WA/WB in NL

On the limit forums there seems to be a lot of discussion about different situations where you are either way ahead or way behind. The standard limit line seems to be that the player should check...

Re: Learning to think on the fly -- a test

I think that a raise from each of these opponents will be likely to mean different things.

For opponent one, if we know that he is an aggressive thinking player than a raise does not necessarily...

Re: AJo UTG

Since the turn and river are the important streets in this hand (at least I think that's what you're asking about) let's try to put villain on a range here...Assume that since he three bet preflop he...

Re: The Second lowest game in any room

Thanks everybody for all the great advice. I will try and incorporate some of these suggestions the next time I am at the Woods (or any casino for that matter) and see how they work.

If I'm going...

Re: The Second lowest game in any room

By "bluffing" I mean betting when the actual equity you have in the pot is close to zero...you derive nearly all your value from the ability to represent a hand rather than to actually have it. The...

Re: The Second lowest game in any room

[ QUOTE ]
Deuce:

I have played many hours of 4-8 at FW and these are my thoughts:

1. How much is your buy-in? Are you leaving room for swings? I typically buy in for $200 and have $100 in...

Re: The Second lowest game in any room

So are you always being aggressive with a made hand/semi-bluff or are you playing aggressively when you have no hand and no draw? Is all the "equity" you need against a weak tight player the ability...

Re: The Second lowest game in any room

Its not so much that the players are loose or tight, its just that my friend seems to have an easy time representing a hand that can beat what he suspects they have. This is what I mean when I say...

The Second lowest game in any room

Most of what I have read suggests that trying to put moves on people at a low limit game is useless because a bluff/fancy play will not succeed often enough to make it profitable. I have always...

Re: crappy or awesome calldown

Are people folding on the turn without the flush draw? Do we assume he automatically has at least a queen? Thanks.

Re: AQ under fire, ok to let go?

miles- yeah sorry...just edited my post. I meant raising the flop not three betting.

deception- Does it have anything to do with encouraging KK and QQ to continue betting into us on the turn when...

Re: AQ under fire, ok to let go?

Just as a question...why hasn't anybody suggested raising the flop? It seems to me as though KK, QQ and JJ would also three bet pre flop and then (perhaps?) follow up with a continuation bet despite...

Re: Live 4/8 play along

sean, this wouldn't happen to have been at Foxwoods last Saturday would it? The table sounds pretty similar to one I was at last Saturday.

Re: I\'m a douche and I don\'t know my lines

[/ QUOTE ] Also, could someone explain the merit of the c/c c/c b/f line to me?

[/ QUOTE ]

I think that the c/c, c/c, b/f line is the "standard" 2+2 line for when we are either way ahead or...

Re: 910s flops bottom two but sick board...

Yeah this was kind of what I had suspected- the pot was too small for this play. By relative position you mean my position relative to the raiser correct?

(Note to self: STOP assuming I will...

910s flops bottom two but sick board...

Villain in this hand was TAG (17/7.3/7) but that was only after 40 hands so take it for what it's worth. I'm particularly interested in the flop and turn action. Should I have raised or folded...

Re: Hand That Came Up In 1/2 NL Last Night

Alright, I'll take a stab at this one...gonna first try to put Tighty on a hand range (I'm weak tight so perhaps I can give some insight).

He checks the flop, then donk bets the turn when a...

Re: playing against drawing hands

In a deeper game, I think I would have doubled your turn bet ($120 or so into a $180 pot). Put in a healthier raise and make him pay for that flush draw (or possible straight draw). Seem...

Thanks everybody for the help with this issue.

\"stealing\" the blinds at micro/low limits (cross post)

A lot of the poker tracker posts I've read have said that people should try to steal the blinds approximately 30% of the time. Unfortunately, in my experience whenever I am in a good blind stealing...

Re: TPGK v. possible river flush

It's a tough situation which I think definately deserves more discussion.

Regarding your play on this hand, I think a value bet on the river would be okay here because of SB's action on the flop:...

The one part I'm having trouble with is whether or not to call PF. Do most people call in this spot with Q7s getting 5:1 while we're out of position? If this has been addressed...

Re: Raise or Fold?

Don't want to be semantic, but if the flop has more than one spade we have the nut flush draw and this is a raise /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: A concept I don\'t understand

Since you're out of position, why not just check on the flop and use the action behind you to judge where you're at?

If there is any significant action then just check/fold. If it gets checked...
