i will typically only cold call with small pairs, or Axs, and only then when there are at least like 5 people in and i'm in late position. Other than that, it's either good enough to reraise or not...

Looks good to me. You can't really raise the flop because that'll force everyone to call two cold, which kills your equity. Gotta bet the turn. He was probably on a weaker draw or an underpair.

Hand 1: I probably wouldn't raise this flop but I don't hate it. I fold the turn and I definitely raise the river (where'd the aggression go?)
Hand 2: 3-bet might be pushing it. I call here.
