Re: question about Wilson Turbo O/8

Yes it is fixed limit only. It would be great to have a pot limit version.

Re: Will Stud ever fully recover from the HE craze?

I think it will. The day after Daniel Negreanu stated that stud/8 is his favorite game, and posted a hand on his blog, the stud/8 tables at party were packed. Jennifer Harman has also listed stud/8...

Re: Wilson software

Though the advisor is wrong in this instance, I find the wilson software to be a great training aid.

Re: 7stud hi/lo vs. Omaha hi/lo

Stud hi/lo is a much better game in my opinion. In over 25,000 hands played I have been quartered for low only twice.

Re: I\'ve never lost so many big pots in a row... *NC whine*

Nothing you can do about it Red. Got involved in a game on Sunday with players who were taking everything to the river and hitting frequently. Sometimes the best thing to do is find another game.

Re: I\'m done

Thanks for posting Jon. Your situation and mind set mirrors mine exactly. I was averaging 4BB/100 at $2-$4 Stud8 over 1500 hands, thought I was good. Lost 50BB over 1500 hands this weekend. Poor...

Re: Multitabling stud

I agree Cowboy, I find it hard to keep up with the action and players in one game let alone two.

I play it the same way, and hope he is holding A-6.

Re: If you never bluffed...

I play low limit ($2-$4) stud/8 and I rarely bluff. I will only semi-bluff or bluff at a pot if I know my opponents are capable of being bluffed. I have had more success by waiting for strong hands...

Re: Party 2/4 stud8 people - lets talk about THIS player... and LAG it up?

By the way Lemon, good raise and reraise on 6th. You read your opponent perfectly and if he doesn't catch on river you take down a big pot.

Re: Party 2/4 stud8 people - lets talk about THIS player... and LAG it up?

I have often thought about loosening up my game , and have tried playing LAG for short periods of time. I have found that I consistently win by playing A-B-C poker.
When these LAG's run over a...

Re: Party 2/4 stud8 people - lets talk about THIS player... and LAG it up?

Hi Lemon. I have played against Mr. K on a number of occasions, beginning at $1-$2 a few months ago. He was a big loser at that time. Played against him a few days ago and he won big. Mr. K has...

Re: Wilson\'s Turbo Stud and Stud/8

I have both Turbo Stud and Stud 8 as well as Turbo Hold em. They are excellent training aids. No you do not have as many options to control your opponents play as Turbo Hold Em, but I am satisfied...

Great post Andy. You have identified one of my weaknesses. All too often I check the river like the weak passive E.

Re: How does everyone recover from tilt?

I usually play tighter. Don't try to win your money back all at once. You aren't going to come out on top every time you play. Learn to minimize your losses, but discipline yourself to accept leaving...

Re: Does anyone else play 2/4 hi/low at party poker?

I am surprised at the difference in play from $1-$2. I was actually able to use some deception and steal a few hands here and there. There are still plenty of wild players though.

Re: Basic Stud odds/outs calculations

The original Super System has an odds chart for 7 stud in the back of of the book. I have the Wilson Turbo program, which also supplies odds calculations as each hand develops.

Re: Comments on this stud 8 hand?

I fold on 3rd with this one. Good raise though as you were able to get heads up with the presumed lows. Good raise on 4th as well, I would play it the same after 4th as you are pretty much committed...

Re: Stud/8 (Bankroll Question)

You can safely play $1-$2 with as little as $100.00. The worst single session loss I have had at that level was $90 over 4 hours of play.
