Re: Back into MTT\'s - Full Tilt $24, $16K guaranteed

How about the turn, whiskey? I was weak-tightly afraid of A/images/graemlins/diamond.gif K or a made flush. Should I push here? This gives any /images/graemlins/diamond.gif about 3.3:1 to call...

By 3-betting the flop I dont give him a free card and also can get some pretty reliable information sooner than later

Back into MTT\'s - Full Tilt $24, $16K guaranteed

I'm a limit HE pro. I grind it out at the 5/10 and 10/20 SH tables. I've had some success at MTT's but never worked a ton on my game. Well it's time to change that. Here's the first step back:

Re: Misplayed Every Street?

I actually like the flop bet if the CO will raise overs here. This should (and did) get it HU to the turn. I hate the 3-bet though. I'd just call the flop raise and check/call down as long as no...

Re: 75o

You're playing 40/28. If most of your hands aren't 3 or 4-handed, you're way too loose and it's not even close. I personally wouldn't be crazy about calling 75s in this spot let alone 75o. Also,...

Re: Donkin\' at me.

What are his donking criteria? Obviously there are no draws on this board, so he can't be betting that. Will he just donk top pair, or any pair? If the board was a bit more draw heavy I'd call...

Re: Turn Line?

You're sure SB can't have TT? He might be raising a bit lighter than usual since you're 3-betting a CO steal attempt.

Yeah, I think you have to bet the turn, even though I don't want to get...

Re: 75o

Preflop: fold
Flop: I don't like the cap. Unless he over plays overcards, you're an equity underdog at this point.
Turn: His raise here confirms you're behind.
River: You have zero chance to...

Re: Always autobet after a preflop raise?

You want to maintain the initiative in the hand whenever possible. However, in this spot I don't bet if it's checked to me and I fold to this flop donk. Your hand has very little showdown value and...

Re: This felt weak

[ QUOTE ]
With the way you played the turn, I bet-call a non /images/graemlins/diamond.gif river. Actually, I would bet-call any river but A /images/graemlins/diamond.gif. Is my thinking flawed?

Re: Ed Miller be damned, I\'m folding (5/10)

[ QUOTE ]
I'm a little confused why you 3-bet the solid player's UTG pfr OOP.

[/ QUOTE ]

Because against someone who raises 20% of their hands preflop, you're going to have them dominated...

Re: Ed Miller be damned, I\'m folding (5/10)

[ QUOTE ]
What does check-raising the flop accomplish?

[/ QUOTE ]
It traps the button. I would have mindlessly led the flop, but when I read about the c/r, I like it. Since he still has...

Re: standard uncertainty

Raising the flop in this spot might get you 3-bet, which really sucks. However, getting 3-bet might define his hand a little better allowing you to more comfortably fold on the turn. But players...

Re: Preflop: Hijack PP vs. limper

I limp behind maybe 5% of the time, raise 0% of the time, and fold the rest. I'd be interested to hear others answers too. I usually fold 55 and 66 in these spots too. However, I raise 66 on the...

Re: I folded TPTK for more one bet in a big pot on the river

[ QUOTE ]
you can safely fold to a raise on this board, so by bet/folding you gain 1-2 bets when ahead and lose 1 when behind. if you check/call you might not get any bets when you have the best...

if you check/call you'll usually only be putting in a bet when you're beaten

Re: I folded TPTK for more one bet in a big pot on the river

There's a good chance you're ahead of button here, but probably not both. That being said, the c/c line on the river might be best. How aggro is the CO in these spots? If you check to him, what...

Re: expected value of tournament play

I play 5/10 limit SH myself and will be moving to 10/20 shortly. I think my NL tourney game has gotten better playing SH because it's taught me how to play "poker" and focus more on player reads.

I've been thinking the EXACT same thing, Flint. For one, it keeps things fresh and fun. Two, there's that bit of a thrill there of winning a big one. Your (and my) hourly rate probably won't...

Re: QJ 10/20 Flop/Turn Action

I think it's pretty standard. The flop raise does no good. It doesn't protect your hand and just builds a pot. The turn raise is perfect because now you're charging draws and your equity is up a...

Re: Blind Defense: Bluffing on flops with an Ace?

HEPFAP SH theory suggests that you "ignore" the top card in HU, just pretend it's not there. This is applicable in this situation since the button has a high ASB% who's hand range is wide. So going...
