I can\'t fold this river... can I?

Ok. Two questions:

Do I bet this river?
Do I call this river raise?

Villian is pretty much a straightforward player. VPIP 23% PFR 13% over 300 hands. Sorry for crap hand history format.

Re: Are river calls like this bad bad bad?

I nearly slapped myself for calling that river. Time to give up for the day, since this was a loose one

Re: This is a common turn bet yes?

Yeah good point. The table is not too tight, and this is the third orbit I've participated in since joining the table. I won two hands the last orbit, going to a showdown with JTs and KK. So I'm...

Are river calls like this bad bad bad?

Villian is 32/9 over 50 or so hands so meh

Looking back at this hand there's nothing here I beat on the river and I should have folded. If the river was a non diamond (like 6 of clubs) would that...

This is a common turn bet yes?

Seems like everytime I hit a lull I'm always questioning my basic plays:

Re: How\'s my line? Standard?

Haven't seen him play any HU Blind defence hands - so I don't know. But his game seemed standard everywhere else

How\'s my BB defence line? Standard? Or too tricky?

Straightforward opponent with straightforwards standards. If he 3-bet the river I would be able to laydown this hand

Using the \"Dope with a rope\" strategy in the BB (Blind defence)

Afternoon,

I've been thinking about changing the way I've been playing post-flop when I've hit part of the board. Ok, lets take three common examples:

1) You in the BB vs an aggressive player...

Re: i\'m ultra paranoid..

Guys, you have to remember though that there's two opponents for your villian to push off his hand here with his "middle pair".

I'm leaning towards him having a Queen as opposed to middle pair,...

Anyone go for the C/R when you\'re the PFR?

Quick simple question.

On the flop, when I'm the PFR, I usually just go ahead and bet, when I hit the flop.

I don't try to be tricky and look to see who's in the pot and whether I can get him...

Re: Running at 22 (VPIP), 15 PFR

Thanks for the quick replies guys - ok I guess I should be concentrating improving my game in other areas, and hopefully the VPIP and PFR will take care of itself.

Cheers

Running at 22 (VPIP), 15 PFR

Morning,

Just going through my Pokertracker stats for my last 20,000 hands. Over the last month or so I've been concentrating in raising my VPIP and to a degree my PFR.

I was hoping to bump my...

Re: Trip aces and lot of action

I'd play it the same way. Seems CO has either AT or AQ. Probably.

Since we know nothing about him, I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt

Re: statspost: 330BB downswing

Yeah, quiet down on that aggression and call down more against aggressive players like leader said.

The problem you have is quite easy to fix IMO. I had the same problem as you but not being so...

Don't give him the opportunity to valuebet his good hands and check behind with his worse.

Does that mean I should have gritted my teeth and bet the river too?

Is this a mandatory calldown?

Ok, I get raised on the turn by a pre-flop 3-better. Do I automatically put him on two pair or a set (QQ seems reasonable set here) and therefore fold? Or is this a normal call down. He could be...

Did I misplay this hand?

Hi all,

I think these hands are very difficult to get away from, so did I lose the minimum? Comments please...

Villian is 37 (VPIP) / 10 (PFR). Seems somewhat sensible.

Quieting down my aggression and become more passive

First off, I've been looking off my Pokertracker stats. I've noticed a few things that I think that are fundemantally wrong with my game:

1) I'm too aggressive on the flop and turn. My PF raise...
